Stupid $#%$ing 2 wireless networks

Ok, heres the situation
I have my netgear network, neighboors have linksys network. Mine works fine, but theres when I go on "accidently", well I am far enough away to only get a signal and no info (cant browse), thats ok, I use MINE. But the problem is ill be doing my thing and the internet will just SWITCH to theres and I will have to go through reconnecting to mine, AIM shuts off, FTP shuts off, its a mess. How do I block theres?
Yes, I have thought about cutting their power

In hte list of wireless networks, make sure that you prioritize which available networks you want to connect to.

Also, you may want to use the configuration of your netwcard card instead of the windows one assuming that you have it.

If you are using winxp, have you tried disabling the wireless Zero config?

Although you will have to go into more details to config your connection this does prevent the automatic switching of wireless networks.

You might also try switching the channel your AP runs on, and binding your cards to that channel.

Alternatively, you might just switch your AP off and piggyback their net connection if you wanted to be an asshole. Or you could ask them to please turn on WEP, and do the same on your AP.
