Corrupted mp3's

Please..........HELP!!!!!

Somehow, when I copied over my entire mp3 collection from one HD to another, many of the mp3’s got corrupted. Now when I say corrupted, I mean they will no longer play in any of my media players – winamp and windows media player etc.

I know for certain that these mp3’s used to work. There is no doubt about it.

I’m attaching screenshots of file properties from winamp, and winamp itself. You’ll see that according to the properties, there is file size, a bitrate, everything that is necessary. But when in winamp itself, 0’s for bitrate.

Is there some magical program that can help me to fix these otherwise busted mp3’s???

If you can get me a solution to this, I can provide you much goodness, too good to speak of in public forums

Thanks in advance!!

Is it possible to re-transfer all those mp3s over again? Do you still have the original source mp3s? If you do, I suggest transferring them over again.

if I had the uncorrupted files trust that I wouldn't be asking for assistance in fixing the corrupted files. heheh

short answer, nope. at this point I am hosed unless I can fix the corrupted files. hard drives died, file systems got corrupted, it was a huge mess.

Try a decoder that can read corrupted MP3 files like MAD.

If that doesn't work, uhm.. good luck

Well that was a step in the right direction hehe. I went from not being able to play the file at all, to 5 seconds of ticking after installing MAD.
