Congrats arael. I got my 5 gig iPod in Nov 2001 and still carry it everywhere I go. You're going to like it for a long time.

I have the 20gb ipod, great product, comes everywhere. Its great for listening to audiobooks as I dont get a chance to sit and read much.

Arael, have you noticed any bugs with your new ipod, I've heard that the new ones produce a static crackle between tracks and a few other odds and ends

I envy you. I would love to have an I-Pod, but they are just way too expensive for my poor-ass college student budget.

I don't even bother with water any more....j/k

I actually used a piggy bank to save up for my iPod. My friends made fun of me but they were most impressed when I showed them the greatest mp3 player.

Waiting until after July's MacWorld expo to buy my second iPod.

can you store computer files on the ipod? if not im going to go with the mp3 player with the colored lcd screen :)

Realizm 05-14-2003 03:07 PM

You can load your operating system off the ipod, and yeah, it's possible to store files.

I have 2 questions...

1) My comp at work is Apple, my comp at home is PC, i want to bring files from work to home via Ipod, how do i make this happen? Btw, i have the "old" 20 gig

2) Can I/how do I make my ipod bootable? if i can, i'd like to back up my hard drive.

Thanks in advance

look around apple's help page a little more for hte 2nd, but i"m not sure if it can be done.

with the older ipods at least, to have it work on both PC and mac you would first off need a Mac formatted ipod. on the PC you would have a program called macloader which would let you read the mac file system. you can get that from the ephpod site or just search for it.
