Its probably fine--it might not overclock like a champ, but if it just plain doesnt work, NewEgg is good about RMAs...

That RAM will do fine, but isn't your processor an Athlon XP 3200+? You'll need 400 MHz RAM if you do have it. That PC2700 won't do...look for PC3200.

Looks great to me as long as you're not gonna overclock. I'd buy it!

I'm not saying you need to OC...it's just that if you want to, you'll need really good RAM. Yes, the 3200+ is 400 MHz FSB.

Alright, thanx. Lazerath are you interested in 512 ram for 20 bucks? Its work in my computer not sure if it was the cause of my problems which is why im selling it for so low. Anyway its apacer pc3200 ram. Its yours if you want it. I said id give it to someone who helps and youve been great help.

Anyone else who helped me can also take it if they want, be aware though it MAY be defective. I didnt even bother checking if the ram was the problem in the computer im just getting new ram anyway.

does your mobo support dual channel? if so, i wouldnt put in that 512 unless its actually two sticks of 256. is it? you need an even number of ram sticks to run dual channel.

and plus, mixing two different brands of memory esp one whos name is really not known is probably a bad idea. you might get compatability issues.

You can compare prices:
http://www.pricewatch.com/h/prc.aspx?i=33&a=4560&f=1
If you don't want generic brand, scroll down to bottom of page and select a higher price range, there are Kingston, Micron, Corsair, etc.

If you do use www.pricewatch.com then check the company on www.resellerratings.com . There's a bunch of trash on Pricewatch...be careful!
