Knoppix

Anyone have any experience with Knoppix? I recently downloaded 3.6 and I don't think it's recognizing my onboard audio and network card. Even XP doesn't come with any drivers for these, have to install from disk. How would I go about getting these to work? The mobo is a ASUS P4P800. Thanks in advance.

Never have had any problems with Knoppix recognizing stuff, so I can't really help you, but keep looking. Knoppix rocks - it's a great way to play around with Linux and it makes a great tool for fixing various things on your system

I'm afraid it might not be possible without adding the module into the CD image itself. If you were to go download and compile the module while actually using Knoppix, you'd have to do it every time you used the CD (if it's even possible, since you're not actually working from your hard drive). That being said, someone who knows more about Knoppix would surely give better advice than myself, as I've only used it once.

Sometimes linux won't recognize certain hardware. Like my wireless Netgear card. I still haven't gotten around to fixing that. For something like Knoppix, you'd have to find the drivers, then add them to your CD. Probably not for a beginner.
