Help, I've lost my cookie jar! - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

a couple days ago i lost the ability to store/retrieve cookies on my usual windows log-in. for example, my login to TFP and other sites are reset everytime i close a window. doesn't seem to affect other local accounts.

steps taken so far to fix the problem:
-run spybot/adaware/hijackthis... cleaned system of spyware
-restored IE to default settings
-ensured IE security settings in normal range

still no luck. this smacks of messed up file permissions in my windows user folder, but everything seems normal to me. any experience with this? any ideas to fix?

Silly question... but does it do it with other browsers?

Try Firefox or Opera and see if it still does it.

Could you have filled the space for temporary internet files? Could your Privacy settings have been ramped up to block all cookies, or could some sites have been set to never accept cookies?

I would go to the advanced security section and manually look for the cookies settings, and set them how you like. sometimes when you install programs, or update to sp2 it automatically changes the settings.
