front page will pretty much do everything for you. www.htmlgoodies.com is a good resource though. Once you get started its pretty easy and you'll get the hang of it. I recommend using the split view in front page so you can see how the code changes when you change a page.

my first recommendation to you is ditch frontpage and get a decent text editor.
please, do yourself a favor and learn html.
and if you want anything dynamic javascript and/or php

http://www.alistapart.com for good css information (kind of advanced)
http://www.w3schools.com for good basic html/css/javascript information. they have a 'sandbox' environment where you can play and see what happens.
http://www.htmldog.com/ is another great reference for css and html
http://www.phpfreaks.com/ for good php information

and usually if you have a question you can post it here and get a dozen conflicting answers.

Here's a link to an easy html editor I use when I want something a little more than notepad.

This is the site I used back in 1994 to learn HTML by myself. It wasn't much then, but I see now they've really ramped it up. This will teach you, step by step, what you need to do to create HTML by hand by having you create a site of your own with baby steps!

Trust me, you'll be glad you learned it and not had it shoved down your throat by a WYSIWYG editor.

Go to the library and get a couple of book on Frontpage, for what you want to do it should be very easy. I did my first homepage about 10~12 years ago. Just don't have time to sit down and play with it nowadays.
