PCI Graphics cards

Hi everyone,
I am looking to upgrade a 2ghz celery system that has integrated graphics. Unfortunately they didn't bother to put in an AGP slot so I have to find the latest and greatest in PCI

I have no clue when they stopped making them and what chipset to look for. Any ideas?

I think the best PCI card available now is the GeForce FX 5500. Check it out:

Because of the fact it's PCI it won't be stunning but it's much better than integrated onboard video

Those are PCI express graphics cards. I asked for PCI graphics cards.

Thank you red jake that is exactly what I was looking for. I didn't realize they made any of the FX series in PCI.

Sorry for being a little off topic, but how can you tell if the slot is PCI vs. PCI-express? Is the appearance different or is there another way to tell?

Different size and color.
A PCI slot is normally white and you can see a few in this image.

and I believe (I don't know because I've never seen one) that PCI-E is black, but there is some variation among the manufacturers in terms of color.

I don't know much about PCI-E, I stopped being to afford and care about the latest and greatest mouse trap years ago. The best way to find out is to read your motherboards manual or go to the motherboard manufacturers website and download it.
