follower of the child's crusade?

Thats a nice looking metal. Does it still fire?

As much as I'm not a fan of guns personally its a good looking object.

I love lever action 30 30s. My stepbrother had one when I was younger and I was always a bit jealous...never did get my own.

Dude, you should get your hands on an 1887 12-guage. For the lever-action afficionado, it's the ultimate Can O' Whoopass.

Very light recoil and packs plenty of punch to get the job done.

Nice, man!

My da got me one similar for my 15th birthday, and I spent forever figuring out how to do the one handed spin with it, just to say I could.

Don't those have issues firing modern 12 gauge ammo due to the increased Ooomph! factor?

I suppose you could use that all-brass cowboy shit, but that's a waste of money for plinking.

Nope, the modern repros use modern steel, no issues with current-production ammo. (Plus they're a LOT cheaper!) Bossman's tryin' to figure out whether he wants to "hike" on from the shop.

It's the Saiga's great-granddaddy, the original Fightin' Scattergun, you've gotta love 'em.

that shotty does look nice.

wiki says

so nope, no 12 gauge 1901's...unless wiki is wrong..AGAIN.
still, a pretty weapon though.

i really like the octagonal barrel..do they still make rifles with these?

Did you get the story (or stories) behind the gun or did you already know them? Sometimes I've found those multiply the value for me.
A lot of folks of course collect the gun because someone famous used it, or the guitar bcause someone great played it.
For me, knowing the mettle of the man who held it, hunted with it and put meat on their own table, means as much as if not more than the famed.

all i know is that it was my grampas fathers, and he bought it from a bait and tackle store already used... it was given to my uncle some years back and then back to me. only problem was that it had "rocky mountain sights" placed on it...whatever the hell those are. it may take down from the original value, but at least its more accurate...according to my 70 something year old gramps anywho. (who shot it with original sights)

who knows how many lives this thing has taken...i mean this gun was in the south before any sort of rights....if you get what i mean.

edit: thanks to everyone who appreciates this. i creamed my pants when i held this damn thing. ive had a gun in my hand since the age of 7, and while i dont know as much about fire arms as most of the people on this part of the TFP(you know who you guys are), i can still appreciate a weapon that fires beautifully.
