To spare you, as well as meself, I'll keep this OP to a brief descriptor of the overall aim:
this is seeking to be the preferential commons to share, feature and analyse those bits of
creatively-produced genius, which stand out from the much-maligned industry of vacuum
peddlers, selling you ideas and waxing imaginations of how to convince you of a need, to buy
the hope of what they're selling: the luxury, comfort & familiarity attached to the brand of the day.

Please, if you care to contribute, feel free to provide in the form of a print ad, (as you'd see in your subscribed periodical of choice) an ocurring concurrent marketing campaign, a TV spot, or a vintage pop culture icon (or slogan) that you'd like to re-visit, to further the cause and awareness; alternatively, your relevant and insightful commentary in regards to any specific post, advertisement or video is just as helpful, as it churns the cycle, and instills a commitment to conversation amongst the community.

This is the poster (designed by Jeff Turley) for Paperman, a Disney short that’s been generating buzz for its distinctive melding of CG and hand-drawn animation. It’s the directing debut of veteran CG animator John Kahrs (Toy Story 2, Tangled, The Incredibles). Paperman will debut at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in June. It will be distributed more widely in November when it plays in front of Wreck-It Ralph.

I really like unique love stories, and for better or worse, Disney has a way of capturing that essence of setting a love history right (even when half of the library seems to be comprised of generations-old European folk tales). Mainly, this entry is about the poster only, but when you get to the very center of it, the poster is a screenshot to a story within, one that makes the heart sing, and lets one's hopes float on as high as the standard that came before it (Pixar's vast array of animated shorts, though this one is going to officially released as a Disney-original short). To me, the entire intrigue behind this animated film is sold on this idea, (as well as the poster above, w/o forgetting) so consider me buying in.

Tagline: The power of Pine-Sol® is stronger than you think. Company/Brand: Clorox/Pine-Sol

Diane Amos has been their longtime spokeswoman, appearing in commercials
since the early 1990s. Recognizable by her long hair and her loving motherly attitude,
Amos is known for her catch phrase "That's the power of Pine-Sol, baby!".

The commercial from 1987 for Diet Pepsi with Michael J. Fox (youtube suggestion from the second video) is one I vividly remember seeing when it first aired. Right up there with Clara Peller saying "Where's the Beef?"

As previously posted in the sister showcase to this viewing venture: Animated Shorts; because some times those big name branding companies commission some of the most wonderfully-imaginative short films (whilst keeping their logo hidden, for the most part) in order to tell a good story that can identify with their recognised product. The above is a brilliant example of concept meets ideal, through commercialization (advertisement).

Tagline: Encuentra tu grandeza Company/Campaign: Nike (Worldwide, detailed: Spain)

    Encuentra tu grandeza.

Tagline: Find your greatness. Company/Campaign: Nike (Worldwide, detailed: Olympic Synergy/United Kingdom)

Nathan Sorrell, Nike's Fat Jogger, Vows to Get Thin

Nike isn't an official Olympic sponsor, but it's been running a whole campaign anyway around the London Games under the theme "Find your greatness." Among the numerous TV spots from Wieden + Kennedy, one truly stands out—the one with Nathan Sorrell jogging. At 5-foot-3 and 200 pounds, the London, Ohio, native is, well, fat.

In the spot, directed by Lance Acord of Park Pictures, Nathan is shown running toward the camera down a country road at dawn—an arresting and unsettling image of physical struggle and, according to Nike, everyday greatness. Nathan is not identified by name in the spot, and so plenty of people have wondered who he is. Well, a local Ohio paper tracked him down for an interview. It turns out Nathan is not actually an early-dawn runner. In fact, he threw up in a ditch during the shoot. In an editorial, the paper heralds Nathan as an inspiration, though it seems he was the one most inspired by the shoot. Nathan and his mother Monica have vowed to help each other lose weight through good old-fashioned diet and exercise. If they succeed, Nike will return for another taping. How great is that?
