Either way, in the US Galil parts are hard to replace since they are pretty unique (despite looking similar to an AK), and .50 ammo is very bulky.

 

If this were a real situation, fuck the zombies. I'd drop the AK on my brother, grab the .20ga short shotgun for myself, and take over the local CVS. Once I had loaded up on antibiotics, Advair for me, and non-perishable diabetes drugs for relatives, I'd be back to my house on top of a hill.

how effective would a nail gun be as a melee weapon? it seems like anything requiring strength (club/blade) is a waste of time since it'll just tire you out against a tireless enemy

 

If you actually mean as a club, then not very, as they're pretty unwieldy and hefty.
If you meant as a projectile weapon, then still not a good choice, because you either have to power it by compressed air, gunpowder, or batteries.
Also, you have to rig it to by-pass the safety feature, unless you want to get up close and personal with a bunch of walkers.
Not very cost efficient.

 

As long as you had some way of maintaining enough psi on the gun. It seems to me that the air hose would be problematic in a situation where you would have to be moving quickly. Also, you'd have to rig the safety mechanism. Most nail guns require some sort of pressure on the 'muzzle' before they will fire.

 

Make sure when you're blasting zombies that you use this retarded fad optic. I am so disappointed with EOTech right now. It's bad enough that they come in second place to Aimpoint in the reliability, but they make themselves look like total morons for this Mickey Mouse biohazard reticle bullshit.
