Couples and porn viewing

Do you and your partner watch porn together? Does it enhance your sexual life? If you don't, why not?

 

We don't. I guess I figure if I'm horny enough to be watching porn with my SO, I'm probably already having sex.

 

I find it pretty erotic, but I know that some people have a problem with porn. We stick to ethical and couples friendly stuff and it turns us both on, and I think part of it is the very act of watching together. Kind of like merging the imaginations.

 

I've come to the conclusion that movies made for the porn industry are not made well enough to arouse me. The acting is poor and the sex comes off looking staged, which it is. Five minute long close up shots of an isolated penis going in and out of an isolated vagina is fucking boring. The woman's fake moaning tips it all over the edge for me. I usually end up laughing at the absurdity of it all.

I find intimate sex scenes as part of a well made movie to be much more erotic.

I think my SO and I are in agreement on this one.

My current female companion, as hetero as a Viking long ship loaded with beef jerky and a boombox blaring Metallica, seems to enjoy softcore lipstick lesbian porn. Ya know, boobs-on-boobs Skinemax at 3 AM (we discovered this about her while channel surfing after coming home from a night out bar hopping) . Other than that though, no. Every other woman I've been with over the last decade or so has failed to understand the detached visual arousal that pornography provides men (and some women). After dealing with emotionally disturbed and physically insecure partners for years, I've decided that I need to have the porn talk with girls on the first date. I've done it every so often. The problem, though, has been that I like the porn I do watch to be very hardcore, past the point that several of my partners have been comfortable with... so it doesn't happen a lot. However, I greatly support others watching it-- it keeps me semi-regularly employed.

 

Yup. We watch it. The wife prefers the FFM stuff, which obviously gets zero complaints from me. We don't watch it every night..hell not even every weekend, but we watch it often enough to call it a habit. Sometimes we just watch it for fun, sometimes we use it to enhance certain activities..it just depends.

My wife LOVES porn, potentially more than I do, and I consider myself a fairly regular porn hound. My wife is easily distracted and somewhat of a control freak, so getting to orgasm requires her to kind of distract herself from, well, herself so she can let go and cum. I think this will end up being a double post, but by "very hardcore" what do you mean? I'm surprised it's to a level that they're actually uncomfortable with it.

 

Nope, my woman is a little repressed, and I'm not going to push it. She has been able to watch sex scenes from R and NR rated films lately though. Honestly soft core porn is probably the hottest anyway. Usually better acting, due to not being able to show the 'naughty bits'.

 

I suppose it is typically a male interest, but I take it more women like it than conventional wisdom would suggest. I'm of the mind that whatever a couple wants to do together, with an equal level of enthusiasm and which hurts no one, is a good and healthy thing. Openness and honesty are a great foundation for mutual exploration and experimentation. We've seen a couple of movies that are really pretty good - the latest being "An Open Invitation" - it is a bit silly at the end, but for the most part, it is pretty and concerns normal people in some kind of extraordinary situations, but they are believable and very very hot. As I say, if you are picky, there are some good ones out there. Another good one is "9 songs" especially if you like music.

 

I think that's topic for an entirely different thread, really. But, to do a quick summary, I'm a rape fetishist. That's "my thing". And the average male I've encountered, for most of their bluster, is unable to keep arousal going for a truly hardcore, well-acted gang rape vid or, really, even a good one-on-one rape scene. There's other things I like in porn, of course, but they usually involve equally "disturbing" activities.

 

The most erotic porn movie I've watched involved two homosexuals going at it anally and orally. They were extremely into it with each other and for me, that was the clincher. I'd rather watch two dogs fucking in my yard, as long as they're into it, than two highly paid porn stars that make no bones about what's in it for them.

We've never talked about it. We are both aware that the other person looks at porn. I don't have an issue with it and neither does she. I think we both are of the understanding that it's a private thing and no harm is done.

 

We like to share things. I have to keep a bit of a lid on my personally extreme preferences, as my boy partner is more conservative in this department.
