“President Obama has promised to slow the rise of the oceans and to heal the planet. My promise is to help you and your family.”
Mitt Romney, during his speech at the RNC

“The soles of Neil Armstrong’s boots on the moon made permanent impressions on our souls… like all Americans, we went to bed knowing we lived in the greatest country in the world.”
    Mitt Romney, same speech

actually it just dawned on me as to why the feds might be purchasing so much ammo prior to the election. are they preparing for post election riots if obama loses in november? with the way things have been lately it wouldn't suprise me at all to see massive shootings, mobs, and arson when obama loses.

there's no other reason to have more ammo than the army uses in freaking iraq.

    A little perspective.

The IRS ordered 174,000 rounds for 295 criminal division special agents in 50 or so field offices.....589 rounds per agent.

James Holmes ordered 3,000 rounds in Aurora.

DHS? I would suggest it is reasonable for 20,000+ Customs and Border Protection agents to be armed.
    --- merged: Sep 6, 2012 at 7:14 PM ---
    DC Police...4,000+ police officers and 600,000 rounds? 150 rounds/officer

ps I wont address the racial undertones re: riots, arson, mobs...when Obama loses.

As opposed to the Tea Party and extremists anti-government groups and the rhetoric of the necessity of "spilling blood"

I tend to see the opposite showing up on my radar. It's the right-wing crybabies that are all talking about Obama's reelection requiring "action" to "save the republic" from "socialism."

Mind you, I find it's at least ten times easier to end up on a right-wing site on the underbelly of the Internet in the wee hours than it is to end up on a left-wing site on the underbelly of the Internet in the wee hours.

Rick Perry kicked off the "40 Days to Save America" campaign yesterday with a conference call with evangelicals calling upon “Christian warriors” and “Christian soldiers” to “stand our ground” using "spiritual warfare" against President Barack Obama, who he said is trying to ”remove any trace of religion from American life,” a message inspired by “Satan” himself.

    40 Days to Save America
All around us, we see economic decline, immorality, corruption, growing secular humanism and attacks on religious liberty.
For 40 days leading up to Election Day, we will humble ourselves before the Lord, and cry out to him with one voice to save America.

    Tomorrow: Michele Bachmann

Oh, I'm not too worried about this. Apparently the "weapons" of these "soldiers" include prayer, fasting, and repentance.

The materialistic manifestation of this warfare is voting. I wonder how the vote will be split along religious lines. It will be interesting.

A new campaign theme song from Randy Newman.

You can always trust Randy Newman to talk about the elephant in the room. The award-winning songwriter, who supports President Obama, has weighed in on the role of race in the presidential election, releasing a satirical song on Tuesday poking fun at voters who long for the days when a white man was in the White House.

The song has the refrain “I’m dreaming of a white president” and is written from the point of the view of a voter who casts his ballot solely on the basis of race. Mr. Newman said in a press release he felt the passionate opposition to President Obama over issues that generally put the public to sleep – the budget deficit and health care policy, for instance – belie a deep strain of racism in the electorate.

“I think there are a lot of people who find it jarring to have a black man in the White House and they want him out,” Mr. Newman said. “They just can’t believe that there’s not a more qualified white man. You won’t get anyone, and I do mean anyone, to admit it.”

...“He won’t be the brightest, perhaps / But he’ll be the whitest / And I’ll vote for that.”

If they really want to do it up right, they can put up Condi Rice...get a woman and non-white at the same time.
But to give them the benefit of the doubt...actually many did ask her, she just waan't into it.

Although there is a significant portion of the population that are racist to a certain extent, (they call this one a "N...", but have black friends, strange)
I do believe for the most part the nation has gotten past it.

This is one of the "points" or "jokes" Bill Maher makes that I don't appreciate...and he's a funny guy, just wrong on this one.

*Well, unless he decides to add to his platform new "safety features" for airplane windows.

I chalk is up to being in constant campaign mode and being pulled in 20 directions at a time for months and months. It's got to wear on you. Obama once said he'd been in all 58 (?) states. WTF was he thinking? I don't put much on gaffes like this.

you know i think we are giving a huge chunk of obama voters too much credit when when it's said that they are concerned about romneys 47% comment. i think many of them dont even know anything about romney and are voting for obama just for being black, the hype, and apparently free phones???

    this was painful to watch

    Oh, my.

Goes to show, there are voters out there (on all sides) who are less than informed on the issues.

There are also voters who believe everything they hear on Limbaugh...like this Obama "free phone" program.

Voters across the spectrum have no clue.

But informed voters should know better than perpetuating a myth that was debunked several years ago and resurfacing today on Limbaugh, Drudge, etc.

this was the first i've heard of it. there's only so much political information you can absorb when life has to be tended to.
