do you see nudism as 100% unsexual?

I feel rude sometimes because people think i am trying to be rude instead of just nude so how do you see nudism, is it ok?

I greatly enjoy a nude beach, when I have the opportunity. I find that the first 10 minutes or so have a sexual overtone, but after that it goes away. Instead, it becomes an appreciation of the beauty of bodies in all of their forms. For instance, I saw a woman at one resort who was probably about 80, and had a full single mastectomy. Her confidence in her body was beautiful.

I've never been in a public nudity situation that wasn't in view of water, and never with someone that I knew other than my wife.

Nudism being sexual depends on a lot of factors. Location is key, relationship between the individuals (if there is one) can matter, body language, and most important is intent.

I hate absolutes - nothing is "always" one way or the other especially when humans are involved.

Generally speaking, nudism isn't sexual for me, but it's been a while since I've been publicly nude. That said, when I lived in California I went to a clothing optional retreat just to go hang out in the sun and read and stumbled across an orgy in progress. Obviously, that situation was highly sexual but it's the exception to the rule I think.

Hi Red me too i enjoy how it feels and i am tingly in places but i would not make love , just enjoy the feelings on my own self. But i can hear my neighbours talking about rude things like "i bet she would give me a..." when i am in the pool area and sometimes they talk to me over the fence in a neighbourly way and we are talking happily but then i realise they stare down my body when talking. So it feels like rude. At the beach its more accepting cos guys there are nudists and are use to it etc:)

OMG Jazz thats so scary! The clothing optional beach close to us is 95% men so not sex happening.

Borla agree its depending on who the people are.I wear no clothes but i put my dress on if my hubbys work friends are visiting. But if his father is visiting its ok.

Uhhh, sara_wifer, it's entirely possible for a group of men to have sex with each other. Honestly, that's probably more common on nude beaches than straight sex.

But you're right - it was quite surprising. It was about 6 people, with both genders present, but it wasn't anything I wanted to join. I just turned around and walked the other way.

I'd never walk around nude in public, unless there are some extreme circumstances in play. Nor would I let my partner do it (or else: break-up) and I'd probably try to convince my future kids not do it.

Don't care if others walk around nude in public, though.

I imagine there's a lot of support by the male demographic for women to participate in nudism, anywhere and everywhere.

Ok, as a caveman, I have to admit something else. If I see an attractive young woman nude in public, I'm probably going to think it's more sexual than if I saw some chubby, hairy dude, or a retiree of either sex. Blame it on the society we live in or whatever, but it's true to an extent.

And I would discourage kids being nude in public just because there are so many sleazy people out there that don't need encouraged/enabled.

I think its different for long-time nudists. People who are not nudists tend to associate nudity with sexuality unless it is a family thing (where family members are comfortable being nude around each other at home). I would imagine over time, that nudity becomes less sexual by default.

I am glad some one made this thread because of a site I happened across
    Thanks sara_wifer
the site enature.net advertised FREE NUDE PICTURES
not natruist, naturalist, not even nudist, just nude.
I can understand ads that link you to another site but these were porn ads and the ads on the site seemed porn-y.

and a bunch of the pictures featured little kids. I thought that while nudist enjoy going without clothing and that included the children, including the kids in pics and even worse ads crossed the line. Please go there, look at how they sell their pics, look at their pics and let me know if I am just being prudish and over reacting. I found it a bit distrubing

Jazz it scares me a lot since you posted about it  but i guess my beach is safe.

Borla thats a good point i dont think i want my children to do nudism if i ever have children :)

Remixer i think men do want girls to be nude but seems like older men neighbours are more layback when they talk to me. Teenage boy neighbour is not layback.

Speaking as a former teenage boy, when you are a teenage boy EVERYTHING is sexual. :p

    So very, very true.

As a teenage guy, you don't even need her to be naked to make your fantasies go completely haywire (with masturbation as the result).

All it takes is a prominent bulge in the chest area, a chance look into the cleavage, a tight/short skirt, etc.

Seems that way Borla, he talks nonstop to me with sunglasses on everytime

I hope so mixedmedia. Nudism not catching on much yet but i know me and at least half my friends wear no panty/bras so maybe that is popular and might lead to nudism if everybody stops wearing underwear lol.

issmmm, i agree thats so pornish, so wrong :(

i tink that is a personal preferance. it dosent bother me, im not one for being nude in public (self image), but as the_jazz said earlier about the woman with the masteomaty, hey, great for her. im glad that shes comfortable enough with her own body.

my opnion is its like the swinger lifestyle. It works for some and others it dosent,

nudism dosent bother me, ive been to a nude resort, and after being there a while it was like i stopped looking at everything (if you know what i mean), and started having real conversation with a few people when i realized that they werrent judging me for being there

Theres way too many people out there who like to get naked for ill intent and way too many people who think nudity is worse than murder for open nudity to ever be accepted. I would love to walk around nude all day. Only issue would likely be having to worry about popping a boner... but that might just be acceptable here and there in a perfect nudist world.

I've always wanted to see what one of those nudist resorts were all about.

I'm wondering where you are that you are getting stared at for nude then wondering why you are being stared at? If you are in a public area (pool area?) and the only person without a stitch of cloth on, you are provoking the stares and commentary. If you don't want the reactions, don't do what the reactions are reacting to-quite simple, really. And if hubby's father is there, you being naked is ok? I bet it's real ok with Dad. If you're going to show some skin, it should be thick enough to withstand any negativity that will come at it.

Being nude isn't sexual; however, I think nudism is hardly innocent. Clothes are far too practical to disregard in some misbegotten sense that you are becoming closer to nature. What is the purpose of going nude publicly if it isn't to shock or tantalize?

Nudism isn't sexual. Being nude can be. While there is absolutely nothing wrong the human body, if nature intended us to run around nude, we'd be born that way :p

Nudity in itself quickly loses it's taboo/naughty aspect. My teenage daughter plays volleyball. It is now the custom for the teams to warm up in t-shirts and to change into their uniforms just before the game, stripping down to their sports bras to do so. Many parents don't approve of this (myself included). There are enough weirdos out there, and at tournaments there are always cameras with telephoto lenses. And it is called underwear for a reason. Yes, you can see a lot more at the beach, but underwear has a definite titillation factor. Those of us who don't like it are fighting a losing battle; it's becoming more and more common.

I would find a nude beach, where the nudity is just for the sake of nudity, a nice place with nice sights, much like a regular beach with the women in their bathing suits. Nice, but not particularly sexual.
