Damn, y'all are making me feel old!

A few of the free broadcast channels here show many of the programs mentioned in this thread.

Mentioning Canada, I really miss The Red Green Show. Our local PBS station used to show it, off and on, but it's been quite a while.

I'd still like to know why Homicide Life on the Street isn't being re-ran here.

    Loved The Red Green Show.
We watched it on PBS in AK and at first we thought it was made just for us.
His pieces on duct tape and reverse engineering were so Alaskan it seemed like he lived next door.

True story: Went out for dinner in Manhattan about 10 years ago.
Buffy was sitting directly behind me.
She is very petite. More than I had ever guessed from seeing her on TV.

If we include shows from Canuckistan then the original Degrassi goes right to the top!

    Speaking of Canduh....
Kids in the Hall. Loved watching that on CBS latenight back when they first aired and saw the film as soon as it hit the theatres.
Forever Knight, my favourite vampire story by far on television or film (not counting Nosferatu which should count in its own category).

    Ahh, Degrassi Jr. High...
I had a very fun time with a nurse in Galveston who was from Canada. We spent a month getting to know each other, starting with our mutual love of Degrassi. Wheels!!

    Good taste, sir.
I was about to put this up when I spotted your post.

I loved the submarine that shot the jet fighter off the tip of its nose and out of the water.
You gotta like the hotties with the purple hair.
And I practiced going down the launch chutes all the time on the slide.

It just got kind of dark and surreal in some episodes.

They should reboot this...just think of the marketing/toys they could do with the vehicles.

The nice thing is they have many of these out on YouTube now.
I used to have to go to conventions and buy them on tapes to see an episode.

Strange, "1980" looked totally different than what I remember... ;)
Maybe they were in the cool part of town...or maybe it was the UK.

They were pretty cutting edge for 1970...I personally didn't see it until the late 80's.

I watched both. Forever night was intriguing. TKITH had that neat theme music from the local group ( to Toronto) Shadowy Men from a Shadowy Planet:

"If women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy."

Standard duct tape isn't what it sued to be. Gorilla brand duct tpae is in a class by itself.

    Honestly, no.
For me, those shows were the dreck of their times. They are just as bad as anything TP does, only done a couple/few decades earlier.

I wouldn't be bit surprised if TP saw some of those shows as reruns, and a light bulb lit up in his head, "Fuck quality and originality! I know how to make money selling shit TV to blacks, just re-hash the old black TV programs!".
