Cartoons. I can admit it. There are some cartoon characters who are just....hot. Leela. Jessica Rabbit, of course. April O'Neil was a key fixture during puberty. Now, I don't know if it's just the guys or if any ladies get the hots for 'toons, too.

Am I alone in this? What characters get you steamed up? Any thoughts on the psychology behind lusting after the illustrated?

    Please discuss.

I have no particular fetish for cartoon women, but I do find them attractive in at least a symbolic way. The athletic shapes in most super hero comics certainly appeal to me. I really don't think it's any different from still life paintings of nudes, or statues.

The psychology is as easy for me as thinking about tits and ass, to be blunt about it.

Of course, but dig deeper and you'll find Holli Would from Ralph Bakshi's Cool World. Heavy Metal from the mid-80's. I am not so much a fan of the anime girls, but some of them I do like from Ghost in the Shell to Ninja Scroll.

For me, it was not lust, but a kind of romantic crush and sense of companionship.

At age six, it was Tinkerbell. Peter Pan, Wendy, Hook and the Crocodile were wallpaper. I was captivated by her antics, principles, goodness and loyalty.

The next two both sprang into life in the comic AD2000

Judge Anderson is an externalisation of Dredd's soul, a representation of his seeming inner emptiness. Her antics were very different, less clumsy, but on the side of good.

Durham Red is a Bounty Hunter and a vampire. If I remember correctly, she was on the run, once herself a target of Johnny Alpha, Strontium Dog - a bounty hunter. However, she was a popular character and became Bad on the side of Good, and Johnny and she had ongoing chemistry without consumation.

Lydia from Skyrim is not a cartoon, but I need to include her, for she completes the circle. She has the qualities of the others and reintroduces the charming imperfections I so like in Tinkerbell.

Though tinkerbell never got me killed by rushing in bellowing 'I'll kill you if I have to', I had been going up against overwhelming forces with a sneak-attack.

    Hah! I love this question!

I love the Japanese manga Naruto. I'm in love with a couple of the characters from that series. I'll just focus on my top two for now. My avatar tends to be one of those characters. I used to change my avatar more often, but then the characters I chose for my avatar started dying.

Uchiha Itachi (super genius and antihero--two of my favorite things [see also: Professor Snape]):

    Hatake Kakashi:

Beyond Naruto, Hei (BK-201) from Darker than Black is another favorite character of mine (dude on the right hand side):

There are a few more than what I covered here, but I'll leave it there for now.

Not so much from cartoons, but from comic books, hells yeah. Jean Grey always did a lot for me. Betsy Braddock (Psylocke). Storm. Wonder Woman, of course (whose superhero gear, on the minus side includes the most unforgivingly stay-in-place pushup-bustier cups ever, but on the plus side includes magic bondage gear). Wonder Girl. Batgirl (Barbara Gordon always seemed like she would be willing to try anything once). Mary Jane Watson-Parker. Felicia Hardy (Black Cat). Kitty Pryde (Shadowcat). Catwoman (something about hot chicks in cat costumes...maybe the blatant pussy metaphor?). Zatanna (chick goes around fearlessly in half a tux and fishnets: you know she's gotta be up for anything). Oh, and Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman).

Probably a few others, but those were the chief ones that stand out in my mind. For a while, I recall, Marvel used to do a swimsuit issue, and I don't mind admitting it got me through a few tough moments....

Thanxz for reminding me! I had one for a while. She-Hulk, of all characters, erased my brain when I was 15 or so. Just the memory of her stil makes me twitchy....

Turns out Googling 'Marvel swimsuit special' returns a crapload of images, and a bushel of fond memories.

I may have gotten my preference for women with big muscular legs from comics.

I just picked up a book on the 100 sexiest women in comics.

So, I'd say yeah...they do something for me.
    • She Hulk
    • Rogue
    • Death
    • Power Girl
    • Zantanna
    • Betty & Veronica
    • Dawn
While I do like manga and anime...I tend to like more Western and clearly drawn out comics.
Also I tend to like the more linear plotlines...and the ladies written as cocky and confident. Submissive is not my thing.

Whenever this topic comes up, I always shiver with dread... because I cannot help but think of the unspeakable horrors of the other side of the coin.

That said, here's my Top Ten List of Cartoon Characters Who I Never Want to See Naked or See Having Sex:

    10. Helga from "Hagar the Horrible."
    9. Madame Medusa from "The Rescuers."
    8. The Fat Broad from "B.C."
    7. Clarabelle Cow
    6. Lucy Van Pelt from "Peanuts."
    5. Flo from "Andy Capp."
    4. Any Dick Tracy villain
    3. Hell, ANY of those things from "Pokemon."
    2. Broom Hilda

And the number 1 spot is tied-

Olive Oyl and The Sea Hag! (ecch)

Call me crazy, but I can't get aroused by cartoon characters.

    Except maybe, Mighty Mouse.

'fraid I do, Rogue, 'fraid I do.

And I just remembered another couple who probably aren't sacred either.

.... From the ages of nine to thirteen, I had a crush on Lois Lane.

    Lois_Lane-029-31.jpg

I'll now confess that I had some feelings for Lana Lang, 'specially given that she was an underdog.
    Lana_Lang_2.jpg

But at the time, I repressed them, because, in my frenzy of pubescence, I was already beating myself up for two-timing Tinkerbell. I was lost in a maelstrom of feelings, and Lana's martyrdom destroyed me
