Interesting, be prepared for this to rally the right big time.

Absolutely, but they cant make the argument that Obama acted unconstitutionally.

Many on the right (many of them Tea Partiers) will look at this ruling as the wrong decision and will call Roberts an activist judge and/or a black robed-tyrant and/or will wonder whose pocket he's in.

This will force them to rally around Romney and the idea of repealing as the only solution to the Obama socialist problem.

As ironic as that may be.

This ruling followed by an Obama re-election will cause the right to have a conniption. Their ideology continues to fail them, and now they're probably going to lose their patience.

Romney will express the expected right wing outrage in order to pacify the base, but he wont want to keep the focus on health care and away from the economy/jobs for the next 5 months, particularly given that his own health care reform law in Mass was the prototype for ACA and he is on the record as late as 09 as supporting mandates to pay for it.

In typical Paul family fashion, Sen Rand Paul:
Uh, yeah it does make it constitutional.

Dude, seriously? Have you not paid attention to the "arguments" the right has made in the past 20-30 years?

    edit-

    And I rest my case.

Republican Congressman Louis Gohmart said the ruling is "illegitimate" and Justice Kagan should be impeached.

I get what you're saying but I dont think most Republicans will focus on this specious argument but will go with the other lies -- government takeover and intrusion into your life, socialized medicine, death panels, job killer, etc.

Obama and the Democrats really need to step up and challenge the lies with facts and not let the $millions of outside money continue to misrepresent the law.

And the Tea Baggers take to social media to show their complete nonsensical logic-

    Palm meet face.

And your thoughts on how to do this are? Obama was already being outspent this will add rocket fuel to Mitt's fund raising. One report I read said in the first hour after the ruling he raised 100k from small donors. When have small donors been adding much of anything to his chest?

Now that the Court has acted, I think we'll see voter fatigue pretty quickly among Independents over the "repeal, repeal, repeal" message, particularly w/o offering a specific and detailed alternative -- something to which Romney is resistant, given his past record on this issue.

These swing voters are not ideologues, they simply want solutions, not more obstruction and I would highlight the ACA solutions to-date.

I would be putting out ads with real people (moms) talking about how their kids with pre-existing conditions can no longer be denied coverage, how their recent college graduates can stay on their family plan until they are 26, how they and everyone now have preventive care w/ no co-pay, how they no longer fear bankruptcy from a medical crisis as a result of the ending annual and lifetime limits on out-of-pocket expenses, how their parents are saving on prescriptions as a result of closing the donut hole, how they received a rebate from their insurance company for being overcharged.....

btw...I loved the guy moving to Canada to escape socialized medicine! Maybe Baraka can sell him a bridge to nowhere.

I don't think they realize that our governments have used taxes to pay for universal health care since JFK was in power.

I don't think they realize that we have actual socialists in power here. (Not to mention a social democratic party that's currently outpolling even the majority conservative government.)

Clearly they wouldn't know socialism if they saw it. To them, "socialism" is a bogeyman.

I doubt they understand Truman wasn't your President. Even if you explained it to them, showed them records it wouldn't matter. If they originally argued he was you'd never convince them they're wrong.

I actually made a correction. The health care system was largely provincial back in the time of President Truman. As you can see from my edit, universal health care legislation occurred in Canada while JFK was presidenting it up (in America)... (until he got shot anyway).

While you guys were busy trying to put a man on the moon, we were ensuring quality health care access to all our citizens.

    Priorities I guess, eh?

How has that moon landing been treating you guys?

Oh, and LOLZ: People Who Say They're Moving To Canada Because of ObamaCare

Yes, I was watching CNN. It's the only cable "news" channel I get when it rains. Someone texted me and stated the "mandate upheld." I thought what the heck are they smoking I'm watching it right now. Just another reminder news isn't always accurate nor news.

I wonder what impact it would have if Americans vehemently against the health care coverage actually did leave for "somewhere with more freedom"—somewhere like, I don't know, Somalia or something.

Now he's saying he never said he'd move there... just go there if he needed health care. Gee I could have swore he claimed the US had the best doctors and best health care. Does he really think with all his money he won't be able to get an appointment with his doctor? Or is he merely blowing hot gases out his ass yet again? I once more assert you can not debate with people who repeatedly change the rules mid debate.

Everyone knows Cuba has the best doctors.

fflowley Don't just do something, stand there!

I agree with this point of view.
The people fired up about this ruling, were already pretty fired up since they think Obama is a Muslim terrorist placed here to destroy America. (Well OK not all of them, but at least Donald Trump and plas).
The voters that decide elections are going to tire of the tirade from the right on this issue.
