    Seriously, for years afterward, any time there was going to be a major event, riot police rolled out. Now, I'm not saying Seattleites aren't the politest bunch (they're polite but aloof, like most PacNWers, until they've had a pint of microbrew), but there is some subtle incentive to be good at major events like this.

    Both of the celebrations after the Rockets back-to-back world championships (burn in hell, Carol Dawson, for breaking up the team) were relatively violence free.
