That is a very generous gift.

Forgive me for pointing out the downside:

Struggling families might not have the room a baby grand piano (BGP).

Moving the piano can be expensive.
Unrelated true story...A friend (music major, music teacher, church music director, performer, etc) inherited a BGP. She & her husband (an engineer) are younger & only recently married. Thankfully she was able to get a church to store the BGP (in return for using it). They aren't yet "settled, " & with him being an engineer they might end up moving frequently as he changes jobs.

Electronic keyboards aren't the same as a real deal pianos, but they can be stored & moved very easily. It appears the boy in the story had a fairly elaborate set-up before being gifted the BGP.

Still, a nice gesture & a very generous gift.
