    We're getting ready to head down to my hometown in Kansas for the High School Class Reunion weekend. We have a reunion for all class years (it's a small school) and this year also the 50th for 1967 and the 20th for 1997. We had a great time at my 20th in 2014 and look forward to seeing my old friends. And a few sex partners from my high school days. Well, maybe more than a few.;)

    Then we're going to go hike and camp for a couple of days at the Arikaree Breaks, a badlands area in extreme northwest Kansas. Should be fun if it's not too hot.:cool: Sig has really gotten into the idea of arid landscapes. So completely different from his native Sweden.

    The funny thing is that I joined here many years ago.

    You know those people who join forums, and then never post? Yeah. That's me.

    Perhaps I'm in need of good conversation and friendly souls. Too much time in the free-for-all of standard comments sections has left a rather sour aftertaste.

    I'm now wondering if "Pointless Announcements" was the wisest place to ask a why-are-we-here kind of question. :)

    I don't know, seems like an ok place to start. The question is, why are you here? Not why are we here. Nobody can answer for you. You are here. It's up to you to decide what you are doing and why you are doing it. There are biological and evolutionary imperatives, but those are more chemical guidelines motivating your meatsack. You choose to create what worth you think is important for your time with life. For me, it's providing for my children and trying to enjoy my time here. I try to make life around me a little better. I try to be a net benefit for society.
