Started playing GTA V on the PS3. First thoughts:
-> very first problem I had - figuring out how R1/2/3 worked. A google search was helpful here.
-> They give you a huge world to explore. I spent most of the time as soon the prelude was done stealing cars and causing chaos.
-> Still harder to play with those damn buttons and knobs on the controller compared to the standard keyboard and mouse I used on the GTA IV. I did just check and saw it scheduled for PC release very soon, but that means nothing to me right now as the game would laugh at the system specs for both of my systems. Hopefully they avoided all of the problems that plagued the PC version of GTA IV.

Sitting on hold with the IRS has given me visions of the signs in Spongebob they use for transitions with the not so bright main duo -
"Three hours later"....
edit: just talked to an actual person who transferred me to another department with an "estimated 15-30 minute wait time". That sounds akin to describing The Philadelphia 76er's record this year as "could be better".

 

I finally saw The Pianist. Setting aside my personal feelings towards Polanski, he made a fantastic movie. I had previously read the book, and wasn't blown away. I'd need to read it again to see closely the movie followed the book.

 

Argh!! I can't get this out of my mind, "I wear a mask...I ride a horse...".

That of course brings this to mind -

 

Tonight I get to watch two episodes of The Walking Dead without having to hear or see my wife any make any sign or sound of disapproval.

 

This has been mentioned elsewhere on here but I just watched this clip for the first time. This falls under painfully bad.

 

I am going to try the first real mission on GTA V where Franklin is trying to recover a motorcycle again tonight. I failed at least 12 times last night trying this, and I was reminded yet again that these console games are not my strong point.

Speaking of GTA V, so there I was in a "borrowed" truck that was in decent shape aside from the missing passenger door and riding on a rim in the front. Apparently the cops were eager to say hello and sent a small army to do just that.

And now for something completely different: I am enjoying these James Lee Wong movies on netflix, but Boris Karloff playing a Chinese detective is about as convincing as John Wayne's worst film role by far when he played Genghis Khan.

 

Ugh. This needs to stop.
