Portrait Photography

I love taking portraits! For the time being, I'm going to have to take mine outside until I can buy some equipment. Unless, I jerry rig something. A friend of mine is planning on putting together a modeling portfolio and has asked me to be her photographer. I'm pretty stoked about it! Until then, here's a few I have taken. Just a forewarning, my favorite subject is my son.

Very nice, RJ! Great lighting and composition outside. If you invest in any equipment for indoor shots, I'd suggest an external flash up there on the list so you can use it as a hairlight to really make things pop against a black/dark background.

I can take some OK portraits (don't ask me to direct a model though, I have zero patience if they don't know what they're doing,) but taking pictures of people posing just puts me to sleep. I like to take most of my portraits as oddball shots (reflections, etc), or crazy action shots. My personal favorite? Crazy hair.

 

I took these pics by accident..but kept them because they look so good.

 

BC - Those are so fun. I like it how you have your own thing.

Templar - The little girl in the first picture is adorable! I told my husband that I hope that we have a little red-haired girl.
