I am grateful for this thread because it encouraged me to listen to this audiobook rather than put it off and eventually not do it.

I'm about halfway through it and it's blowing my mind. Much of it is merely reinforcing or rounding out what I already know, but so much of it also is encouraging, inspiring, and motivational in terms of improving my emotional health. I'm already taking measures for formulating better habits and have further plans to do so down the road.

Thanks, snowy! I'm also grateful for your membership here!

I am grateful for the full twenty minutes I was just able to spend in the bathtub without teenboohead trying to barge in or Simba doing his pathetic 'little match girl' routine outside the door. In other words, I am grateful that I had the uninterrupted time just now to sit in a pool of steaming hot water and masturbate. thank you, god. you truly are an awesome god.

    - I'm greatful I made it through the first weekend of having my motorcycle without getting killed.
    - I'm greatful I was able to get out to the country and enjoy some real peace and quite and an actual night sky.

I am grateful for being able to clearly see Jupiter and Venus side by side in the night sky (in Toronto!) like they were twin planets.

I'm grateful for new opportunities. My new opportunity is a direct result of a personal relationship I cultivated with a family I work with. I think it is the best evidence of how good I am at creating and maintaining relationships with the families I serve through my work.

I am grateful for the sunshine, warm weather, and blue skies in Columbus today. I'm also extremely grateful for a week and a half off from school or any real responsibilities!

I believe in that for sure. That would be my SO, not a good thing to be around him when he gets bad service.

Me for today, I'm glad for the Welcome Home Warriors club. Giving my son an escort home from the airport on this Saturday, about 50 bikers. He is going to kick my ass I think.

I'm grateful for the course my life has taken. I'd have it no other way though there were times I cursed it.

I'm grateful for Skype and the fact that my SO and I have been able to maintain our long-distance relationship without having to resort to the Barrett/Browning method of letter-writing our way through 4 years of romance.

I'm grateful to Google for pulling up the TFP on a search for divorce advice. (or maybe it was a search for Alien Jesus - I can't remember but I'm grateful nonetheless)

I'm grateful for everything these days. Life is good. Finally.

I feel the same way with life, and also TFP.

It really has helped me in so many ways. It's real!! People are real!! Not fake.

Also you Joniemack, you opened up my eyes to another avenue that I knew nothing about. First reaction was defense, only because I didn't really know.
When I read some of your posts now they make sense and it's pretty fucking cool! :) Thanks!

I'm grateful for the turn of events in recent weeks and months, and that I've found the strength and confidence to face some big fears and doubts.

I am waaay thankful for the job I had before this current folly. Without having that nest egg, I wouldn't be doing nearly as well as I am right now.

And, directly related, I am thankful that I am a boring frugal cheapskate with no vices and the ability to withstand all sorts of materialistic impulses.

It was looking for dating after divorce on google that I found TFP too :D

I am grateful for the really close friends and family that have stayed close to me and supported me through the last four months of never ending shit and disappointment that is still dogging my ass. I am eternally grateful for my mother who without her, me and the kids would be homeless. And I would also like to thank HSBC bank for showing me how to keep calm and carry on without breaking down when they continually shit on me from above.

  16. I havent posted or been an active member on TFP in years (one can easily tell by my avatar) but this thread hooked me immediately. Thank you Snowy and TFP.

I am grateful for having the means to buy a home in California in a nice neighborhood. I recently became a father and while that in itself is overwhelming, the thought of raising my beautiful daughter anywhere near my job was absolutely terrifying. Thankfully we move in to our first home on July 1.

Thanks again for this thread. It really helped to put things in perspective today.

The most beautiful people we have ever known are those who have known defeat,
known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have pulled themselves out of
the depths. These people have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding
of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep loving concern.
Beautiful people do not just happen. ~ Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

You have to live a little, bleed a little, err a lot and suffer to really get it.

i thank You God for most this amazing
day: for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue dream of sky;and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes
(i who have died am alive again today,
and this is the sun's birthday;this is the birth
day of life and love and wings;and of the gay
    great happening ilimitably earth)
how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any - lifted from the no
of all nothing - human merely being
    doubt unimaginable You?
(now the ears of my ears awake and
now the eyes of my eyes are opened)

I'm grateful for e. e. cummings, who say this much better than I could.

Bump for the month in which Americans give thanks. Canadians, it's a bit late for you, but you're welcome to join me. I am going to list 12 things I am thankful for, to catch up with each day of November. I've seen a lot of people doing this on Facebook, but I'd rather share here, as the people here are more familiar with some of the background of my current life.

    1) I am really thankful for my husband.
    2) I am thankful for my wider family unit--my parents, my in-laws, my aunts and uncles, my grandparents. They may not all be my family by blood, but they would do anything to help me, even bail me out of Mexican jail.
    3) I'm thankful for my friends. I have wonderful friends who are always willing to help.
    4) I am thankful for my work. My boss is a fantastic person to work for. I never have to fear a misstep. She believes in making mistakes and learning from them, but I've also learned from her that not everything I see as a mistake IS a mistake. She's always available when I need her, and sometimes she just helps me process stuff. I am also thankful for my work family. They are always supportive in tough times. I feel like we finally have a staff group that is really clicking in a meaningful way, and that's wonderful.
    5) I'm thankful for my placement. My mentor teacher is a great guy.
    6) I'm thankful for my kids. Holy smokes, they make me laugh every day. They take my mind off of things when they're not great. I have to be present when I am in the classroom.
    7) I am thankful for the TFP! This is a thanks for the space. The thanks for the people is no. 3 ;)
    8) I'm thankful for my book club. I'm grateful that I still get to read books for fun.
    9) I am thankful for graduate school. I love being a big ol' nerd about education.
    10) I am thankful for my cohort. I've made a lot of new friends through school this year. I just wish some of them lived closer.
    11) I'm thankful for my kitties. They are an endless source of joy and amusement to me.
    12) I'm thankful for the Dr. Hs. They will never get a chance to know this, most likely, but they have helped my husband a lot in his budding career. I hope that someday I do get a chance to say thank you.

So there you have it. What are you thankful for?
