Christian groups that have publicly sided with the protesters include one of the oldest Christian charities, the Fellowship of Reconciliation, and the oldest national student organisation, the Student Christian Movement, Christianity Uncut, the Zacchaeus 2000 Trust and the Christian magazine Third Way. In addition, London Catholic Worker, the Society of Sacramental Socialists and Quaker groups have offered their support.

A statement by the groups said: “As Christians, we stand alongside people of all religions who are resisting economic injustice with active nonviolence. The global economic system perpetuates the wealth of the few at the expense of the many. It is based on idolatrous subservience to markets. We cannot worship both God and money.

Why do some Christians need to be reminded so often of their own principles?

    Matt 19:24
"Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

It's so refreshing to see Christians on the right side rather than on the side of the right.

Mmm, they wouldn't be protesting if they had money.

  4. My sympathies were with the bride who arrived to find her wedding venue looked like a chunk of Glastonbury. The protestors were quite jolly about the coming wedding - might have been nice if they had considered folding down their tents for the duration and just sitting on the grass. Is it true that most just sit empty at night anyway?

I do wonder how many rich, spoiled brats show up in grunge just to piss off their parents.

As the world teeters on the brink of capitalist disaster, the Occupy London protesters chant their approval for one of British society's most honored institutions. Tents are left up in anticipation that the newlyweds will emerge in search of a convenient place for a quickie shag.

    Makes sense to me.:)
