Between the bizarre cultural appropriation and the archetypal storyline, I wasn't impressed with Big Hero 6.

My husband complained about my whining throughout the movie, but whatever.

Frankly, based on my experience of the actual city in question, it could have supported a Japanese-American hero just the same.

Yesterday we went to see "Revenant."

It's hard to describe this move. It is beautifully filmed, well written and well acted, but not for the squeamish.

Other than wanting to shake Tom Hardy into a consistent accent, it wasn't bad. The cinematography was amazing. But the Taunton was a bit much... :)

I read an article about how it was shot, the director insisted on filming in sequence using all natural light, and the conditions were brutal. They tried filming in Canada but the weather got too warm and they had to move to Argentina. Several crew members quit.

Thought it was a good movie. Reminded me of castaway except it was in space and not on a deserted island. Only downfall of the whole movie is that it is two and a half hours long. I wasn't prepared for that but it was worth it.

Went and saw Sisters with my GF.
With Amy Poehler & Tina Fey.
Didn't think it was very funny, but then I am not a Parks & Rec guy either. My GF enjoyed it, so it was worth going.

Omg, hubs and I lost our shit laughing at that movie. Tears rolling down faces, had to take deep breaths. I love the SNL girls, though. Maya is hysterical. I'm laughing at my desk thinking about it. I think it appeals most to those in their late 30s, early 40s... We watched those skits on SNL and lived those parties. Ha ha ha.

Guess I am too old then.. ;) I loved the two of them on the SNL news, but that was about it, although I did love 30 Rock...

This isn't a review per se. I was channel surfing last night and briefly caught a scene from a movie that I haven't seen in many years and probably have never seen all the way through in one sitting. What surprised me was the amount of flesh shown--minimal blurring--on a free TV channel.

Rosemary's Baby is a classic for good reason. It's extremely scary. What it suggests is more terrifying than what it shows.

Is it any wonder that Roman Polanski was exposed as having "unusual" sexual proclivities?

I always thought of Mia Farrow as a pretty but way too thin. She's actually quite hot in RB.

Logan. Excellent movie. So much better than the xmen movies and the individual wolverine films. Don't want to give anything away, but great acting between Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman. And earns the r rating. Well worth watching.

I love how deliciously silly xXx: The Return of Xander Cage is.

I enjoyed John Wick Chapter 2.
Not as much as the first movie but I think think that was only because I wasn't surprised at the world building the way the way the first movie did.
The action was spot on and I hope that is is copied by other movies because it is clean and easy to follow with no damned shakey cam.

I want to see that, but will probably wait for the dvd. I did enjoy the original more when I watched it a second time.

Just saw fate of the furious. If you liked the other ones, you will like this. Yeah there was no Paul Walker, but it was pretty good. A completely ridiculous and under the bottom movie.

    Just saw "The Circle"

With Tom Hanks and Emma Watson
    (Patton Oswald too
    Bill Paxton's last movie)

Not bad...concept kind of like Gattaca
not DNA but the ubiquitous Web
Mix in a bit of the tracking in Minority Report

A thriller movie of fascist tones
What should be done in the name of good??
    What is privacy?

I know Gattaca is coming sooner or later
This is a good portrait of where we may be going with the Internet of Everything

    Good flick, makes you think
