Regarding CNN's as-expected ridiculous, overly polite (read: one-sided) "Town Hall" (heavy on the air quotes here) about Guns in America:
Even in a pussy-ass, nearly-European country where we're all offended about everything, certain lives matter and third gender elementary school bathrooms are a thing... we must remember we live in a world where having balls still counts.

Trump has become "The Ugly American"

Hell, they're even rebuking him in the GOP's State of the Union response. Link (*she's actually was fairly good in comparison, there is some hope...)

Let's get some sanity and civility back into our campaigns.

I don't understand why people are attacking Trump now. If he dropped out of the race for some strange reason, Cruz would pick up all of Trump's support and be much worse.

Uh, hasn't most of I'mOffendedMicroTriggerFuschiaLivesMatterSocialistCowToISISThirdWorldLaughingAtUsBallsMadeOfPussy America been attacking old crazy fox pelt since Day 1?

Odds of Trump dropping out? Zero. I'm just waiting for the GOP dingleberries (Christie, Jeb, etc.) to recognize the reality and flush themselves. Save money, save embarrassment, maybe actually do their day job.

Fiorina has the stuff but politics is about buckets of money, legacy and Reality TV soundbites. Rand Paul gets put at the kids' table for saying the stuff we need to hear instead of trying to push a patriotic Mountain Dew ad up our collective asses.

If the dingleberries dropped out, it would be a pretty small field.

Fiorina was a horrid CEO at HP, there's a reason that she's been unemployed ever since. Not sure I'd vote for Rand Paul; but he seems mostly sane.

    Idea.

Irrelevant except she always touts her business acumen. She's got the right talking points for those of us that spent our youth playing GWoT.

That's his biggest problem... he's got great points, refuses to cave... but nobody will vote for him since he's too far outside the binary.

Great perspective from a long time GOP

And why do I keep trumping Trump??
    Because he scares me...

Trump would just be another Bush. He would do some bad stuff, but I think he could sell some of his negotiating skills, inner city restoration plans, and fewer entrepreneurial regulations as improvements.

The problem is if Trump goes away in the primary, the GOP will nominate Cruz. And he would be a wrecking ball with the attitude it is his way or no way. The Supreme Court will be far right wing conservative for 40 years if he becomes President. And I'm sure he already has a laundry list of things to pass in the first week (with a Republican house and senate). Repeal ObamaCare, ban same sex marriage, outlaw abortion (through creative federal law if need be), remove coal power plant restrictions...

And I still think the race is a toss-up, because it all comes down to who can win the few swing states of Ohio, Virginia, Colorado, and Florida. Michigan, Pennsylvania, Iowa, and North Carolina can go either way too.

Trump has the potential to be a lot worse than Bush.

I tell ya...there are a lot of conservatives this week on the shows starting to really get upset by Trump and Cruz

They're clamoring for Rubio to take over. (but he doesn't have the chops...although, may be good for the Hispanic vote.)

And Bloomberg is considering a run as an independent if Trump, Cruz or even Sanders are the nominees.

I have no idea how anyone can support Trump, or Cruz, or really any of the Republican pack this year, who seem to range from absolute lunatics to the usual crop of corporate-owned plutocrats stepping out in Tea Party drag. I think any of them would likely be as bad as Bush, or Bush, Sr., or Reagan. There hasn't been a sane and reasonable Republican presidential candidate since the last time Eisenhower ran.

I am looking forward with ever-increasing relish to voting for Bernie Sanders. I think the right-wingers and clenched-ass pundits who say he's unelectable are totally wrong. I think he's electable as fuck, and if he gets into office, he will be this century's FDR.

You may say I'm a dreamer....

I'm pretty sure they're supported by absolute lunatics and Tea Partiers.

Eisenhower, yes, but at this point, I'd take a candidate who vaguely resembled that pragmatic moderate Ronald Reagan.

It's strange the amount of support he's getting. Some of Bernie Sanders' policies are unorthodox even by Canadian standards. I can't imagine what impact a Sanders presidency might have on federal politics north of your border.

    You're not the only one....

For all of the amusement that Trump and Cruz bring to the party, they are the ones that I'd consider "unelectable". In a normal election cycle, Bernie is probably not in the running; but compared to those two bozos, he looks pretty sane.

I like some of his ideas, others, not so much.

I especially like the idea that he's not Hillary (whatever happened to Rodham?) Clinton.
Ronald Reagan was a great Truman Democrat.

Donald Trump didn't attend the Republican presidential candidates debate because he doesn't like the moderator for FOX news, Megyn Kelly.

He's a pussy. If he can't handle how he's (mis)treated by a moderator, how the hell would he handle the pressures of being POTUS?

It was actually a decent debate. Without Trump there, it was easier to see what the other candidates stood for. I love having Rand Paul at the debates, if only to be the constant reminder of what hypocritical air bags the rest of them are

I'm surprised Trump didn't show up, but it made the debate seem like the "kid's table" debate without him there.

There wasn't much benefit for Trump to go to that debate. If he would have made a gaffe or if Cruz would be able to paint him as a liberal sympathizer, it might have made Iowa close...
