Note: I'd like to be able to discuss the current episode of the week, so steer clear if you don't want to be spoiled for the most recent show. Please put any spoilers from FUTURE episodes behind a spoiler tag.

Is anyone else watching? I watched the first two episodes on hulu, and while it's not really my kind of show, I found myself getting into it. It's kind of strange to be rooting for, from an American point of view, the Bad Guys.

I'll admit, what caught my eye first was Keri Russell--as a 90s teenager, I adored Felicity. Well, the first season, anyway. :) I kept thinking Matthew Rhys looked familiar, but since I haven't seen anything he's in, I decided it's just because he reminds me of Zach Braff and Paul Rudd's love child (y'know, if they had one.)

Anyway. So the wiki synopsis quoted above is a bit too general from what I've seen. The show centers around two married KGB special agents who are deep undercover in early 80s DC.. They were thrown together by "Mother Russia," not any pretense of love, and have had two children to enhance their disguise as an ordinary suburban family. The plot thickens when an FBI counter-intelligence agent moves in across the street.

The actual espionage is interesting, and gets pretty intense at times, but I'm enjoying how Elizabeth and Phillip deal with their kids more...the kids, Paige and Henry, have been raised American, and don't know anything about their parents being Russian spies. It's starting to get to Phillip, who suggests defecting to the American side and leaving their dangerous life behind. Elizabeth, however, is completely dedicated to Russia and the KGB, and worries about the kids picking up anti-socialist views which she can't really do anything about.

Also, not a main thing at all, but...the soundtrack so far is pretty kickass.

Finally saw episode 3... Hulu doesn't make them available until EIGHT DAYS AFTER they air. Grrrrr.

The kids weren't in this episode much, but we're seeing more of what's going on emotionally with Elizabeth and Phillip. They've been married for...something like 15 years, maybe twenty, and they're really only now starting to learn about each other.

Also, I just learned FX has ordered a second season. Excellent.

Keri Russell played the Princess in CinderElmo. Haven't seen her in anything else but she was good in that.

This show has excellent characters, story and action. I really like how the United States and Russia are super paranoid about everything and the two kgb agents almost started a war out of extreme paranoia.

We love this show! We are in Season 3 now and I said the other night, "I can't believe that they don't run into people they know when they are out with their agents"
