To answer your (most likely rhetorical) question, I haven't a clue.

We know the House Freedom Caucus won't allow a much needed moderate.

‘I Mean, Is This My Party?’

Yes, it is the party now...and for some time.
And while I don't blame the typical voter (there isn't much alternative), other than being duped often. (I was republican long ago)...I blame the leaders and insiders...those of influence.
    Because they ARE complicit...

They've allowed this bile to go on.
    And even grow and accelerate.

It hasn't been my party for long while...and I think many have lost their way too.

Some politicians sell their souls in whole or large pieces. Doing it small piece by small piece makes justification, and self-delusion, easier for the more (bot completely) principled politicians.

This could also go under the NPD Trump election fraud trial thread.

Wisconsin Republican leader stands by fake Trump elector, will keep him on elections commission

A fake elector, Bob Spindell, intentionally lies about the 2020 results in WI.

After getting caught he admits to lying and faces no consequences of note (none of the 10 Repubs do).

Now he is appointed to the Wisconsin Elections Commission.

This sounds like something that I (used to) believe would only happen in Texas.

Don't underestimate the longterm affects of the poison spread by NPD Trump. This was fraud in a federal election, the fake electors in all of the states need to face federal charges and prison time.

Paul Ryan calls Trump a 'populist, authoritarian narcissist'

Now many in the GOP need to say this...repeatedly!!!
So it sinks into their base's hard heads.

Most are just sticking their heads into the sand, like cowardly ostriches.

Ok you flag wrapping patriots, do this for America.
Because, y'all are about to let in a PROVEN tyrant.
You do NOT need to wait until it's official and he's found guilty.

The problem is, the GOP has come to represent not conservatism...but anger at the system.
Wanting someone to express their rage and to tear it all down.
Even if it means losing the nation.

    Very superficial journalism.

A question the journalist(s) should ask (should've asked) is how many of those 19 former members of Congress voted to support NPD Trump policies and more importantly did they vote during his first and second impeachment proceedings, and how did they vote?

Did any of them previously stand up to NPD Trump, or are they hindsight hypocrites (now that they have nothing to gain from supporting NPD Trump)?

The new GOP, where hypocrisy rules.

House GOP feud reignites as Johnson caught between warring wings

Everything in the article, the antics, the tirades, and other chaos, are showing what depths the GOP has sunk to.
No shame...just continuous toxic drama and a circus.

When even ultra conservative speakers get upended by even more radical players.
When we are distracted of NEEDED work & funds by outlandish tactics

Until we reduced or remove the rot, we will continues to flounder, government not working.
But that's what many GOP aim to do, kill the federal government. Hamstring it, at least.
Often funded and influenced by anti-govt groups and VIPs.
The circus is just a bonus to get attention.:confused::mad:

"But the reality is we (Republicans) have a small majority. So in a situation like that, you’re not going to get everything you want.”

If the Republicans can't get everything they want, many of them will do their best to make certain nobody, especially those people willing to compromise, get what they want.

And this is why the GOP is so dangerous and damaged now.
'That's leadership': Iowa voters react to Trump's comment on being a dictator — CNN Politics

    There is no compromise
It’s their way or die (not just the highway anymore)

You don’t think so? Ask those who are vulnerable.
Health matters and so much more, to literally save lives.

And they want the federal government to die too.

And from the video, they are willing to put a dictator in.
I won’t say office, because it won’t be.
It will be a wannabe emperor. (with nukes)

    This is not an exaggeration.
Why??? Because he’s already shown it.
Because they’ve already showed their own willingness to.

So, the only thing that matters is voting.
And if the powers that be, stop lingering and stop it.

Because they’re not going to stop themselves…

It's OK for their president to be a dictator for their agenda. If Biden broke some rules to say curb inflation those same people would label him a socialist...or a communist.

The GOP Is Dying. Time for a Whig Revival?

Is the GOP dying? Not quite yet.
Has it got a cancer or infection? ...yes.

It really depends on if they're able to pull off a win with Chump.
If he wins, who know what form it will take. Because, it will be all about him then.

If they lose, I don't thing they'll fade like the Whigs. That was at the beginning of the nation, very different dynamic and resources then. (not as many states too)
The GOP is pervasive throughout the nation, dominates in many states and has half (give or take) Congress.
The also have tons of resources and media influence.

It might change its tone instead, IF it loses too much nationally.
Emphasize different agenda, pulling back on what it's losing on.

Something else would have to develop, then let people move to those ranks. (take away from the GOP ...and Dems & Independents too)
AND that alternative would have to win big...and with some consistency.

It's going to be a long time before the GOP fades. It won't go quietly.
I hope they get their act together. - Soon.

Scenario, which would need to happen for my comments to be relevant: Let's say Biden wins, big, & shortly after loser NPD Trump ends up convicted in several trials (I think his prison time, if any, would be minimal).

That would give the GOP say 3.5 years (generous estimate) to regroup. At this point the GOP leadership would seriously need to separate from NPD Trump, but would they?

Much would depend on how voters feel in 2028. The GOP might need to concede that election, depending on how well or poorly their regrouping efforts went.

I don't see the GOP willing to make the hard decisions necessary concede the 2028 Pres election.

How does the GOP maintain its main, and historical, appeal to UMC and above voters, while keeping the new support from Blue Collar and below voters? I'm not sure it can be done...unless the Dems continue to drive wedges between their base with progressive programs that scare their white Working Class supporters.

If Biden survives the election and the next 4 years...then Harris would be up on deck as VP.
And if Biden doesn't survive 4 years, to be real, then Harris would be on deck as President.
Either way, we'll likely see her up front.

And the GOP would be in a feeding frenzy trying to take her down.
As well as any other 2028 Dem contender, unless they're Obamaesque in popularity, the GOP will look on this as revenge and an opportunity.
One thing about conservatives, they're predictable in their rage and passion. (just like Dems and their hand-wringing and wishy-washy ways)

I think we'd have to look past 2028, to see if the GOP will sink.
They're going to give it one last charge at the gates. (y'know how those barbarians are ;))

Frankly, 2 things, it's the Dems to lose....AND the whimsical nature of the US voters. (who knows what they think, the polls certainly don't)

Republicans admit it. Kevin McCarthy has never looked so good. — POLITICO

Uhhh, something to ask the House GOP
Do ya really think it’s your Speaker that’s the problem???
Have y’all looked in the mirror?

The GOP representatives as a whole act like bridezillas
Much less their extreme groups playing spoilers and brats.

Frankly, even IF y’all choose yet another
There will still be the same problems

Hell, you guys even threw potential Speakers under the bus, just while voting for them.

    Leadership isn’t the problem
It’s your raging horde of barbarians.

    Look to yourselves.
You’re making the Dems look good and organized

    Rhetorical question, sort of:
How many of the House Repubs
have a plan they think could
    bring the GOP factions together?
