If that's a photo of your actual Kimber, the serial number is readable.

I have thing about posting serial numbers on public forums, or any forum for that matter. But that's just me.

Chris, thanks for the warning, but I'm like you and don't post photos with my serial numbers visible. The reason that this one IS visible is because It's not my gun, but rather a photo I scabbed off the web. I did that because my Kimber is identical to this gun and I don't have to go through the trouble of photographing my own TLE II, obscuring the S/N, and uploading it to my own website so that I can link it over here. I'm kind'a lazy that way. :D

    That's what I thought, but figured a heads-up wouldn't hurt.

Nice pistol. A 1911, real or copy, is on my want list.

I'm not a gun owner, shooter or anything. It's kind of a money pit rabbit hole I don't need.
I'm slightly creeped out and slightly more interested cause I just like neat mechanical things.

Anyway, pistol wise if I were to go to the gun show I would be looking for early long barrel lugers and mausers and their detachable shoulder stocks.

Rifle wise I would get a Ruger mini 14 with stainless steel barrel and folding stock mechanism and I'd get the wood grip in some kind of blond hardwood.

No practical reason behind these choices but I like the way they look, how they fold or come apart.
