    Carbonic Getting Tilted

Onodrim's not here so I'll share for her ;)

Not a lot of recordings online of the things she does, but this summer she performed the soundtrack to Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring in a choir with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Below are some videos I was able to find on Youtube.

This video gives you a decent idea of the crowd and the atmosphere, though it doesn't contain clips of the music
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fiVVpwoXfBI

The following videos all contain bits and pieces of music, but none of them are very long nor do they showcase the choir all that well

EDIT: Here we go. Here's a video from the choir that onodrim's in for an entirely different concert, but it has plenty of music in it :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTnwxjre7GE

  4. I'm trying to get a cohesive clip of our set. What UStream has posted is kind of a mess, with a song and a half of us at the end of a 2 hour 20 minute segment, and no Flynns at all in the following segment. Stay tuned for updates.

@roachboy, this is fantastic. Thanks for sharing.

The more tense moments are reminiscent of traditional Tibetan percussion.

o nice. thanks. glad you like. i hadn't listened to this set for a while--lots of moving pitches. piano pitches aren't supposed to move. a lot of that is produced using glass on the wires. we had a definite timetable for this piece and a sequence of timed environments, so the person i was working with was kinda conducting by timing things and letting me know when i had to change out. the piece was done as part of a dance project. choreographers like to time things.

Hadn't seen this before. Nice idea and nice contributions!

I write songs (acoustic, folky stuff) and perform a little - but mainly just to test stuff out.

This is about a year old and I should remix it, but here goes ... it's called One Last Chance To Shine

    http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?

I guess I could add this too. I'd just moved into a new place and couln't record properly yet, so threw together a quick video for song feedback on a songwriter website I belong to. I'm hunched over the mic, looking away from the camera and think I have clipped it a few times .. but, hey, it's just a video, right? :)

+1 to the above applause :)

    Hi, Alistair

Tippy Toes: That story was very moving, and set the scene for 'Just a little drop' ... 2:10 to 2:30, where "Just a little drop makes Jesse disappear" was heart-rending. Is that condenser at the front of the picture a Blue Baby Bottle?

One Last Chance: I like how you've turned your voice into a powerful instrument ... it was very exciting when you went to that vocal place at 1:35. I think creating a percussion part was a great idea .... which instruments were used. Specifically, I'm trying to get my head around that tuned bass drum ... was that the same one as was giving the higher 'tok' drum sound but struck in different places, or were they different drums?

Fly I enjoyed this developing groove. That phase/chorus distorted guitar which came in at 0:48 was a great glue, anchoring the surrounding developments.

I like the way the tone palette was introduced, leading to 6:20, where a cross between a gamalan orchestra and a zither went into meditation; then that subsequent rapidly plucked lower note provided an exciting backdrop for what followed. The 'Long' sounds - how did you get them - was that a bow? I've only known one other person who's done prepared piano, and I was not observant at the time. I see you've entitled it 2t Shadow World First Version: is there a second version?

Most of my stuff (musically and vocally) has been done by other artists. Here's one done by one of my favorite musicians Don Sechelski called "Ain't That True" (the soundclick link is to the right)

    http://lyricadia.com/jonie-hajduk/aint-true

Another where a wrote a lyric for the music and did my own vocals called "One More Summer" (same thing - soundclick link to the right)

I'll have to go give the others a listen. I had no idea this thread was here!

    Hi, Joniemack

One More Summer - I enjoyed listening to you sing this. Your voice has authority and expressivity which, IMO, enhanced your message coming from you. The almost Dylanesque 'lightweight' flavour of the backing track added to the wrenchingness of the gravity of your lyric.

Ain't it True - I enjoyed the story. Respect to Don Sechelski. I'd still like to hear a version with you singing. I re-engineered it in my mind, and, whilst Don does full justice to the song, I reckon you'd bring something extra to the story.

And what a great couplet ...
    "No battle for Camelot
But he's giving it all he's got"

    Thanks for this :)
