So the half season finale. What did you think?
Loved the opening shot of the screaming, the forest, the zombies...

Awesome tussle between the Guv and Michonne after she katana-sworded his zombie daughter through the brain and mouth.
Not-so-awesome that she didn't use her sword as well as she otherwise always does. (Yes, I know. As I explained to my spouse, if she just killed him, then there would be no 2nd half of season 3 since the Guv vs. the Grimes gang will be the focus. But still.)

WTF with the large section of the prison fence being down so Tyreese and his group could waltz right in, with zombies surely to follow?! Didn't Rick and Co. do perimeter checks? Continuity error or fudging with the script?

Maggie stabbing the thug in the throat was way cool...Glenn ripping off the 'dead' zombie arm and 'de-boning' it was even more cool! Glenn is really not the scrawny kid we met in season 1 any longer.

Does anyone still hate Carl? That kid has really stepped up, trading his childhood for child soldier-hood.

What was the point of introducing the two inmates 7 episodes ago? We know nothing about the guy that died tonite during the rescue at Woodbury and only that the bearded dude is horny and likes pills. They may as well just have them wear red shirts.

I have avoided any season 3 spoilers so far. Still curious how season 2 ends. I already know about the major death that will happen that is overdue from the graphic novel perspective but the season finale should be good after all of this buildup and relatively quiet buildup so far. The whole thing with the barn was good but that was obviously just a warmup for hopefully a large swarm invading the farm and forcing them on the road.

 

The paintball gun in the video was interesting.

Thanks to Netflix instant streaming I was finally able to watch "Judge, Jury, Executioner". Damn sharp writing and good twist at the end.

That whole thing with Carl's poor decision and the powerful consequences was a perfect ending for it. Still waiting for Shane's overdue death but no doubt it will be good.

has anyone been reading the comic?

 

I haven't, To be honest. I can't really get into it. But I know lots of fans who do. And they say it's great.

 

I read them but I'm only up to Volume 16 which is issues #91-96, in one handy batch. There are spoilers for the comics all over the internet though so I'm aware pretty much of what is going on.
I like them because they've brought me back into the realm of the comic book world from which I'd been absent 30+ years.

 

Finished season 2 "Better Angels"

Great ending for Shane, and seeing him come back that quickly as a walker without being bitten is a good twist. That start of a horde you see in the distance at the end should make the season finale excellent. They obviously have to leave that farm location for some "fresh blood" scenery wise and the classic mob scene would be my first choice.
