    No photos, but the wildlife around here have been very active. Squirrels playing, a wide variety of birds and lizards showing themselves, and I'm even seeing crickets and grasshoppers. They seem to think our (nearly non-existent) winter is over; I hope they're right.

    I did miss a photo op. Texas has a around nine varieties of hawks, but I rarely see them in the city unless the weather is really cold. But the other day a red hawk (I looked up but have forgotten the exact name) spent about five minutes perched on a branch in one of our pecan trees. Fortunately, or unfortunately, it didn't spot any vulnerable prey.
