    I'm noticing something on the tag.

    The software is putting a period in front of the tag.

    I'll tag @MeltedMetalGlob and post it.

    And the period only shows after the tag has been posted.

    I'll try another tag, post it, then try to edit it.

    Assuming you’re talking about the thetfp.com website view and not Tapatalk, I believe what you might think is a period is actually the portion of the underline that appears to the left of the @ sign when the tagged username is underlined. In the default display font for the website (I think it might be Georgia), the @ sign dips below the baseline of the text, so while the entire username is underlined, a small portion of the underline appears to the left and above the @ sign and looks like a period.

    For example, when bolder like the normal username tags: @notausernamejustanexample

    Also holds true in normal, non bold weight: @notausernamejustanexample


    ...though I could be wrong.

    You could very well be right. The ampersand does dip below the underline.
