This song got stuck in my head for several days. I mostly like The Police, but this song reaches a level of monotony that drives me batty.

A controversial song back before school shootings became "common." What made this tragic event even more unique was the shooter was a girl.

I really like The Police but I loath 'Message in a Bottle'.
You are so right about the monotony.

The Gambler, by the songwriter, Don Shiltz. I couldn't find his much earlier version from Austin City Limits.

I got Dick Dale's album Unknown Territory on vinyl the other day.
    The man was amazing.
It's a damn shame that he had to keep doing concerts even when he was horribly ill just because he couldn't afford to pay his medical bills otherwise.

@redravin This is great!! I love the cut to "Apache" at :49 and something else at about 1:10... great virtuoso guitar... a showpiece. But... what is the song with lyrics "ya don't hafta play the blues like machine-gun Kelly, 500 notes to the bar." Here's another "Ghost..." courtesy of my dad, I guess that Spike Jones loathed Vaughan Monroe for some reason. Here's Spikes parody version:

    Love Spike.

    The Bluesman
    Harry Chapin

""No! A fool plays the blues like Machine Gun Kelly,
Five hundred notes to the bar,
And if you're going to stick with me
You've got to learn what the blues really are
You learn to pick with me and you can stick with me
But it's time to blow this town.
We gots a gig to preach in a gaming house
    We're Alabama bound"

Chapin has got to be my favorite singer/songwriter.
The man could sing an entire novel in one song.
