What are your favourite comedic works?

  1. Bear Cub

    Bear Cub Goes down smooth.

I was always a big Louis CK fan, long before "Louie" arrived on FX.

Patton Oswalt's uncensored standup stuff is tears-in-your-eyes hilarious. The stuff you normally see on Comedy Central, etc. is awful by comparison.

The bit about the siamese elephants connected at the trunk was hilarious, even more so when when you watch everyone else in the skit trying to not lose their shit while they are listening to this

I was going to list Fawlty Towers, Black Adder and anything with Rowan Atkinson. Mr. Bean, being my favorite.

Steven Wright always makes me smile.

Patrick McManus is hilarious. His first four books literally had me in tears I laughed so hard. I highly recommend 'They Shoot Canoes, Don't They?' and 'A Fine and Pleasant Misery'.

Musically it's hard to beat Ray Stevens for some funny stuff.

    kramus what I might see

If you can find any Firesign Theatre (I last heard a vinyl record 30+ years ago) you may find them up your alley. They are worth multiple listens, as there are interweavings that come up the same way Groundhog Day with Bill Murray bears watching over. I also really enjoyed Army of Darkness with Bruce Campbell.

Reading - the Bandy Papers by Donald Jack. Do this.

Terry Pratchett Diskworld. All of them.

George McDonald Fraser's Flashman Papers (start with Flashman, and work your way up). Also his McAuslan trilogy.

Fremen- I did the same thing the first time I saw that video. I was mesmerized by the drummer, that man LOVES his work. The new drummer is no where near as entertaining, but still good.

From watching their other clips, the leader mentions the first drummer is his son (don't know if it's true), but you're correct, the second guy isn't as entertaining, singing-wise, but he still plays a bunch of instruments real well. I liked his take on Bruno Marz' part of "I Wanna Be a Billionaire".

The first drummer has a surprisingly good voice. He sings "Superstition" with soul.

  10. A friend sent this to me the other day. Thought it was hilarious. YouTube is a great outlet for comedy shorts like this that I'd otherwise never see.
