These scores indicate that you are a tender-minded moderate conservative; this is the political profile one might associate with a sincere clergyman. It appears that you are trusting of religion, and have a compassionately humanistic attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear laissez-faire capitalist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as right-wing.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, an egalitarian with few strong opinions.

" a compassionately humanistic attitude "..... not sure exactly what the hell that is trying to say but that sounds a wee bit off in my case.
    "Few strong opinions".....*rolls eyes*

What makes me laugh is how general this statement is:

I've known some very conservative university professors.

  5. Interesting.

I, like Levite, found myself saying "that is completely situation dependent" more often than I was comfortable with and tended to vote more middle-of-the-road on things that I might have differing opinions on in different contexts.

In any event, here we are.

I find it interesting how many are said to be progressive like university professors. I like that I-- who almost was an academic-- am said to be progressive enough for an animal rights activist, though I actually have little use for radical animal rights activism.

I also think it's interesting that they seem to completely conflate economic progressivism and social progressivism. Thus making me a centrist, apparently. But I'm not actually a social centrist, I'm an economic centrist: I basically believe in capitalism modified by social democracy. It's socially, though, that I'm a leftist. I believe in legalizing or decriminalizing nearly all "vice" crimes, in rehabilitative prisons rather than punitive prisons, freedom of information, strong privacy rights, strong gun control, mandatory voting, aggressive funding of and decentralized creative control of education, reductions to defense spending, taxing the rich, universal health care, and very aggressive funding of social services for the poor.

I think my results would have been less politically centrist 20 years ago. Thirty years ago I was a left-wing liberal but I was young and very idealistic.
I consider myself a pragmatist with a generous dollop of idealism. As the questions were quite polarizing, in a real-world situation I would hope to be more of a humanist.

Hmm, quite a lot of results that say "political profile one might associate with a university professor", in this thread.

    Socialism 68.75

Your test scores indicate that you are a tender-minded progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a university professor. It appears that you are tolerant towards religion, and have a compassionate and sympathetic attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a humanist.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a kind-hearted realistic egalitarian with few strong convictions.

This concludes our analysis; we hope you found your results accurate, useful, and interesting.

Unlike many other political tests found on the Internet which base themselves on untested (and usually ideologically motivated) ideas, this inventory is adapted from Hans Eysenck's own political inventory which was developed after extensive empirical investigations in the 20th Century.
