If you've read WWZ, there really isn't much reason to go back and read the guide, as WWZ is a fleshed out, story driven version of the guide. Although the tongue-in-cheek way Brooks presents some of the instructions is amusing.

I am reading "The Dragon Path" by Daniel Abraham.

I've just purchased Stephen Kings' "The Dark Tower" series (the revised and updated) and "The Stand" (also revised and updated). I'm waiting for the mailman to drop this little package of goodness into my letter box.

I am in the middle of "The Girl Who Played With Fire" by Stieg Larsson. So far I am enjoying that series.

Just finished "The Secrets of the FBI" by Ronald Kessler. Pretty informative, a very easy read, though the way the story is told is kind of disorganized IMO.

Just started "The Lincoln Lawyer" by Michael Connelly.

I'm reading "the WALLS of the UNIVERSE". I'd like to meet Paul Melko almost as much as I'd like to meet that guy in the elevator.

STILL reading "A Clash of Kings"... I liked the first book but this is a struggle and Im on the verge of giving up because nothing is happening anymore (I probably said all this the last time I answered the thread, but its still how I feel)

I WANT to like the series because the first book really interested me, but now every time I get into one of the characters I like, the plot zooms off to someone I find boring.

If something bad happens to my favourite character, I probably will stop - she's the only person who's story I'm still involved with (and please dont spoil it for me by answering that unasked question!)

It gets worse. A Storm of Swords isn't bad, but A Feast for Crows is really bad for focus, and a Dance with Dragons is bad for nothing happening.

I think I'm finished with this series. I've nearly given up on A Dance with Dragons at just past the midway point, but I'm going to try to finish it. Either way, it will be my last with this series.

Funny enough I'm reading I Shall Wear Midnight by Terry Pratchett. I'm a big fan of his and if you enjoy Wee Free Men you should really check out some of the other Discworld Books.

This makes me, more than anything else I've read from you, bond us. Read through your pain, Strange Famous. It's only a story.

I don't know, I kinda disagree with you. The Zombie Survival Guide isn't WWZ-light, it's exactly what it set out to be. A parody of all those Worst Case Scenario/Survival Guide style books.
WWZ is a much more full and complete book but thats not to say the ZSG isn't without it's own charm.

I'm almost finished with The Wee Free Men. I have had a LOT of fun reading it aloud with my daughter. I now plan to read all of the Tiffany Aching books with her (and she might go as Tiffany Aching for Halloween this year). I finished Mort last week. Stick recommended it and I enjoyed it. I plan to read more.

I got through one of the Wallander books by Henning Mankell before school kinda took over. I really liked them.

This might be a good time to start a thread on mysteries.

Personally I'm a fan of the City Watch series (Guards! Guards!, Men at Arms, Feet of Clay, Jingo, The Fifth Elephant, Night Watch, and Thud!). Although they don't have to be read in order, I'd really suggest reading the Discworld books more or less in order because there really is a progression both in quality of writing (it's kinda hard to read The Colour of Magic/The Light Fantastic after reading later books) and in the setting itself.

The Fifth Elephant may well be one of my favorite books ever.
