Don't sell yourself short.....a good roofer, like a good plumber or a good lawyer is a very valued person.

I'm a wholesale insurance broker specializing in casualty placements. Basically I find coverage for liabilities resulting out the actions of large corporations. Usually liabilities resulting from driving big trucks, operating subsidized housing, manufacturing bodypart/people-eaters or some sort of high-risk operation. I deal in things where there's a huge potential for a large payment (i.e. kids' car seats, cranes, long haul trucks) or where there has already been a large loss (either singularly or in aggregate). Chances are that you'll see one of my insureds today and not even know it.

I am a nurse in a large healthcare system struggling with how to reform healthcare from the inside-out. Seriously it is frustrating, exciting and hopefully promising. I tell ya, one of the biggest keys to success in this seems to be having a powerhouse program for electronic medical records. We couldn't do it without IT.

^ I work just outside that diagram. I make sure that the company has legal rights to use all the author's text, any lyrics/poems that the author thinks is cute or appropriate for the story, and any illustrations and cover art. Because of ebooks, now I have to worry about fonts too.

Once I know that the book has all the rights for all the elements, I have to make sure that the royalty department has the correct information for all the different contracts so that the correct royalties get paid to the correct individuals for the right amounts.

If you think that flow is complicated, royalty payouts are even more complicated.

I am the Quality Manager & Business Manager for an engineering firm that deals in Metallurgy. We handle forensics for any disasters (plane crashes, train wrecks, building collapses or fires, bridge failures etc) that involve metal. We also do steel inspections for new construction involving steel, rebar testing for overseas embassies and we certify welders. We have several racing teams as clients where we test car parts after races for cracks. Our testing includes Ultrasonic, Radiation, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Chemical Analysis, Tensile strength, Impact, and Bend. Our office is cool, we have a microscope room, chemistry lab, evidence lockers (that have had body parts at one time). Its a most excellent job, everyday is something different and I love every minute of it.

As a side home business, Dave and I also make massage candles :)

    Love that diagram! :D

I work in the top right corner of it, dealing with machinery and other equipment that a printing press requires. The China-thing doesn't make sense from a production costs point of view, but whatever.
