What do you think about OJ Simpson being paroled?

It was just announced that the Nevada Parole Board voted unanimously to grant parole to OJ Simpson for his convictions revolving around an armed robbery he was part of to recover sports memorabilia. He will likely be released now on/around Oct 1 of this year.

Legally, the sentence he received was very harsh compared to standard sentencing. Morally, I think most informed people feel he has already gotten away with murder.

I understand the legal side, and why it made sense to grant him parole. But I'm also convinced he murdered his ex and Goldman, so I didn't feel sorry for him getting thrown in prison for the robbery charges. I am not surprised he's being released, but wouldn't have been bothered if he'd died in prison either.

    Pretty much my thoughts exactly.

I think the whole thing is screwed up justice...

    The prosecution screwed up.
    The cops screwed up.
    The defense did their job.
    He was acquitted.
    That's how our system works.

And he can't be prosecuted again
But they allowed him to be gone after in a civil case....to hurt him, to get his money.

Then they went after him for a stupid move on his part, for "kidnapping" but not really. (if he's really guilty of anything there, it's that he's a selfish prick)

Basically, everyone has been retrying this case since it was over.
    Trying to "get him".

Most don't get thrown the book at for the same level of crime.
Most get lots of "time served", cut deals, and so on...they're out of prison WAY before that (if going in at all)
Hell, they've let mass murdering mafia off with less.

Now, I'm not going to say he did it or not. (actually, I'd say he had assistance...not just him, if he did it...because the layout and dynamics were more towards multiple people pulling off the murders,...being a rich prick, he likely hired people)
And the cops screwed up the evidence, big time...if not questionable themselves.

The whole thing would have gone away.
If the cops had done their job right.
If they had left him alone after the trial.

But now, we have a continuing circus.
Where a guy has basically gone slowly whacked...constantly hounded and in the spotlight.

So who knows what his mental state is now???

He'll probably do something stupid again.
Get himself thrown into prison on spurious charges again...with all the maxes.
And the cycle starts all over again.
As they try to "get him"

    Me??
The case is over. They screwed up.
    Let it go. Move on.

Hopefully OJ can get his sanity back and stay low.
But I doubt it, he's cracked.
And the media and others will keep hounding him.
    And the cycle starts again.

And they wonder why it's a circus

In the meantime...others' lives have changed. Often not for the better.

I don't expect him to murder or commit other crimes again.
He is not presently a threat to the American people.
I'm glad that tax dollars will not be used for his upkeep anymore.

I wish more people who are presently imprisoned would be granted a similar opportunity for parole, without going bankrupt in the process.

On a personal level: Would prefer him to serve the full time.

On a legal level: Apparently he was pretty much a model prisoner, and deserved to be paroled.

Add to this the fact that OJ faced, and was convicted of, a kidnapping charge that probably would not have been brought against just about anybody else, and received a harsh sentence that very much appeared to be payback for his exoneration in the murders trial.

I don't like the guy, and I'm not sorry he served time,

    but,

let's be honest: He got railroaded.

More and more, it seems that the majority of Governments (at all levels) are sitting down thinking really hard on what can be the worst choice they can make. If there is a chance for them to take the worst possible decision; they will!
