Followup...they rejected it. Dinging the leftist leader.
Now, will they work to balance it out and try again? OR will they work within or adjust the older Pinochet one, tweaking it for current values and dynamics???

Don't let ANY person tell ya otherwise, good public interactive government IS messy.
It's not cut & dry. Not black & white. Not easy and it's complex and time consuming.
    Good government is NOT simple.

But IF done right, it's worth ALL the effort in the world.
And it's for YOUR values (although often compromised).

Your right about good government being complex.
It's one of the top reasons it's so hard to communicate. Even in the US most people I know eyes glaze over within 3 minuets of breaching the subject.
I know a few that see Biden kiss a kid and immediately think he's about to suck their brain out of their skull.

What I don't understand is why folks will be riveted to rich housewives tabloid shows but not care or find interesting the real world of horse trading politics when it actually affects their lives in taxes, rights, justice, and as we can see now, our ability to see reality.

It's probably a lot in it's delivery...for instance I've been watching Oversimplified history vids on YouTube and this guy really boils things down with a casually worded narrative that's way better than what history teachers did when I was in school.

Hopefully Chile will figure something out that works for everyone. But in America people would just rage over their baby back ribs.

I'm so tired of these burn the clock efforts.
I hope we can out play all the unqualified chrony judges that have been installed, salting the earth of the justice system.
Still remembering a blue Florida and Texas.

White conservative Christians ignore their real problem: A fleeing flock

    Yep, it's a slow burn...
They are raging, kicking & screaming...all the while fading away.
Time is moving on. Times a'changin'

    They're fighting a tide.
People are more likely to do their faith and spirituality on the inside...more personal.
The fire & brimstone is over. (at least religiously, not politically )
People now in general, do NOT want to be told what to do and how to live their life. (and for those that do, others think NTTAWWT, but you do you, I'll do me)
And they certainly don't wanna be told they're going to hell for tons of fun stuff in their own lives.

Problem is THIS, these bible thumpers, are doing a LOT of damage and corruption as they shimmy & shake as they fade off.
Kickin' the furniture over, y'know?

I hope they go quietly unto that good night...but it ain't looking like it anytime soon.
They're out for vengeance, these evangelists taking their name in vain.

'A Crisis Coming': The Twin Threats to American Democracy

    A slippery slope...
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

It doesn't help media isn't lighting a fire under it.
    Pushing the narrative.

Most of the public is ignorant or it's white noise.
And so life goes on, saying /, Oh Well

And most opposition leaders with concerns are simply wringing their hands...but not acting.
Pathetic guards let the horde of barbarians in..

    We need to help ourselves.

What Is QAnon, the Viral Pro-Trump Conspiracy Theory?

    This IS nuts
And what scary about it is not the crazy as much as the SIZE, the volume of people who believe.
    Millions!

The only thing I can rationally think to explain this is people getting wacko by a combinations of things...
    - Tribalism (them vs us mindset)
    - The pandemic added to it. (the chaos, ambiguity, fear of death, etc)

...And a "Future Shock" scenario, where people are driven into a strange accumulated syndrome...a shock
overwhelmed by the pace of society & life, the fast dynamic, the tons of choices, constantly having to be on top of things, stresses and burdens of fees & bills
(our brains haven't evolved that fast as civilization, globalization and technology)

A portion of our population is just snapping from it ALL.
    So they become "functionally crazy"
Have families, jobs, pay bills, are articulate...but something inside is just whacked.
Kinda like a less extreme version of the Unibomber.

But instead of bombs, they gossip, spread the crazy and VOTE.
    Just lunacy.
    Except there's LOT of them.

Opinion | A Jan. 6-sympathizing FBI agent just told on himself — and these Trump-loving senators — MSNBC

Scary part is…this is NOT just the FBI…
It’s most, if not all, the police-like entities in the federal government.

    Ex:
    Secret service
    NSA
    ATF
    CIA
    The military
    And so on…

ALL of them have been showing indications of a broad count of their members have sympathies to the radicalized conservatives.
If not outright bias, decisions and actions in support.

All seemingly supported by anti-government groups, VIPs, PACs, etc.
And instigated (and financed) further by Russia & China…or any other nation where the US chaos helps them)

The Biden administration has got a clusterfuck on their hands.

It’s likely a slow moving coup,
some intentional and planned, most just useful idiots.

And speaking of useful idiots…
The ONLY reason we know this now and can act on it…without vague indication or suspicious activity
Is BECAUSE of the Jan 6th riot and the bungling of their attempt of screwing the Feds.
(and keep their lard-ridden orange cult leader in office as president…or leader for life)

They screwed up the magic trick.

We got lucky, the US got lucky.

Opinion | The Best Way to Respond to Saudi Arabia’s Embrace of Putin

IMHO, there will be a global realignment after Russia loses in Ukraine. (if it wins, that's another big risk, much less use of nukes, a RISK period)
Russia will likely be ostracized like German after WWI (* let's make sure the people are supported so we don't get another Nazi-like uprising)
The US and the NATO allies (and Japan & Australia will join) will feel stronger and justified in their "protections" against further aggression.

It will likely lose its permanent place on the UN Security Council.
Saudis will likely be punished for allying with Putin, as will Turkey...and other ethically questionable nations. (yes, none are perfect...some are BIG bullies though)
China will be called to task more, if not isolated more because of its own belligerence, aggression and continuing thievery. (info, inventions, intellectual property, etc)
Pakistan and India will be looked at too, being major nuke holders. (and somewhat cooperating with Russia)
Pakistan again being likely more of a loser, given previous bad actions, floods and less business connections with the West than India.
Even North Korea, Venezuela and some allied African nations will be taken into account more.
Austria's leaders and other Russian favorable heads will be highlighted and pushed around.

In the US, there will likely be a purge initiated, anyone that had/has connections to Russia. (purge meaning ouster, jail, fines, investigations and more)
Even if the GOP has the House, Biden administration and the Senate will put tons of pressure by diving into their foreign influenced shenanigans.
(including breaking open phones, emails, accounts and cryptocurrency, all done under the Terrorist laws...perfectly legal once Russia is under wraps for war crimes)
Europe will do the same (more or less). WHY? Because they were threatened more than most by Russia after the Ukraine)

This isn't WW level, but it's significant from a global political context. (French Revolution level perhaps??? hmm)
You're going to see a surprising square-dance of winners & losers for the next decade. (place your bets)

It will be interesting from a world history perspective.

Texas, even back when it was blue, has always been conservative. How in the hell we got to our current extreme hard right state puzzles me (it's not just appealing to NPD Trump's base).

    China owns the USA.

China has more US currency than the US does. OK. this statement isn't true, but the money the US pays to China has to be nearly incalculable (at least precisely).

Herschel Walker faces abortion allegation from 2nd accuser

Hershel Walker is a real family (planning) man. Some of the accusations against him were & are impossible to prove, but as the saying goes where there's smoke there's fire. And he has long list of accusations.

In the US House Georgia is proudly represented by Majorie Taylor Greene, who tells her constituents guns & violence should be used when they don't like election results.

Now Georgians could send Walker, who says he doesn't remember holding a gun to a woman's head while threatening to kill her, to the US Senate.

Some day they could be the GOP presidential ticket .
