-15F here this morning. Thankfully sunny and no wind.
It doesn't really register as cold so much as it does as outright pain on exposed skin.

Another snow, not as bad as last time.
No people getting stranded for 16 hours on 95 this time.

It almost seems as if the DC area has to learn it’s lesson again every year.
They’ll muck up one early snow.
And people are stranded…again, a fiasco.

Then the remaining storms, no issues.
You’d think that they would remember from one year to the next.

It's cold but not freezing your nuts off cold. It's windy but not "what the fuck just flew off the house" windy, and it's grey but not suicidal October grey so all in all pretty nice.

Our area of Houston has been dipping just below freezing for two nights; the northern border has been getting a few degrees colder.

The good news is our statewide power grid is mostly holding.

The bad news is our puppet governor keeps showing up in the news reading glowing reports obviously written by the power companies and ERCOT, the group that is supposed to oversee the power companies and the grid. Nobody mentions the over 200 (a very conservative number) people who froze or died as a result of last year's massive power failure.

Ski conditions (back country) were superb here today .
Thursday night we had an entire night of sleet and freezing rain.
That produced a rock solid frozen base and now we have fresh powder on top of it.
    The skiing is sublime.

Temp has dropped suddenly so below zero (Celsius) this week but no snow, relatively sunny days. Been a very strange year of weather for us around here.

We have been freezing our asses off in upstate NY.
Many nights below zero the last 2 months.
So we flew to Tucson for a week to escape the cold.
And now it’s 38F here and raining, with heavy snow falling in the mountains around the city.
    WTF?

The warm air from the Gulf of Mexico is keeping Houston nicely above freezing (41F on my back patio at 5:00AM). Much of Texas is seriously feeling the currenf cold front.

A warm front off the Gulf Of Mexico is giving us overnight lows in the high fifties and highs around 80.

For the past week it had been consistently warming up to the point that my allergies were going into overdrive from the melting dog poop and pollen.
Last night and today we have gotten about three feet of snow, just to remind us winter doesn't go away that easy.

Still raining! Sydney yesterday passed our average annual rainfall this calendar year already. Everything damp and mouldy and summer was pretty much non-existent :(

High today around 75, clear skies.

Note: Our lack of decent rainfall is causing major oak pollen problems. Our street is lined with live oak trees, and on Wednesday strong wind gusts created thick clouds of yellow oak pollen. I witnessed two of them, almost got caught in one.
