Who are the mods??

even I didn't know some of yall were mods

 

Not sure if the general populace here at TFP realize how much the Admins do to keep things up and running around here. Without Cynthetig, The Jazz and Amonkie handling daily operations and crisis control there would be no TFP. Without Martian managing the server we wouldn't be up and running either. All of them do that with no pay while having lives, jobs and family outside TFP. I think it's important members know that.

That said there are several of us Mods in amongst you, yeah we're not paid either and we all have real lives outside of TFP as well. But if you have an issue, problem or simply feel you're not comfortable with a post or, well, anything you can either report it or contact one of us directly by starting a conversation. I'm here pretty much daily and I assure if you contact me you will receive a response. I can't promise I'll respond to you within "X" minutes or you'll agree with my response but I will look into whatever issue you bring to my attention. I feel very comfortable in saying that every Mod here will take your report, question or issue seriously and will make every effort to resolve it.

If you don't bring it to our attention it's completely possible we'll have no idea you're having an issue. We can't, don't even try, to read every post in every thread everyday. So please let us know if something bothering you. Our sole purpose of being here is to help make TFP a user friendly enjoyable place.

 

I'm a mod, have been for a long while now. I joined back in 2001 when TFP was pretty much a porn site with a bit of discussion, got promoted to mod a year or two later, and have been around ever since.

 

That really says something MSD, that you have stayed so long in that capacity with SO.MANY.CHANGES. on this board.
And if I may say, you practically grew up here. <mind blown>

 

I am a mod.

I've been on TFP for just about 10 years and a mod for 8.

The fact that people don't know who the mods are on this site is very interesting. What people need to know is without the daily effort of people like The_Jazz, Martian and Cynthetiq, who do most of the heavy lifting these days, this site would die.

I had NO idea until today that Charlatan was a mod. How did I not know that?

Well, it doesn't say "Moderator" under his name, so not that easy to spot

 

I've been on the site since 2004. I became a mod in 2007 and an admin in 2009. I'm the one that deals with policy issues, but I report into Cynthetiq. He is primarily tasked to deal with software, though. Martian, as he said, deals with the servers (which he is very good at) and sitting around looking pretty (which he sucks at).

Staff duties take up less than 5% of my time on TFP. That means that 95% of my posts have nothing to do with board issues or anything of the sort.

I've been on the board for 10 years, became a staff member in 2006/2007, and have been an admin for a couple of years.

GG and I are the 2 female staff members so feel free if there's something sensitive to reach out to us if you don't feel as comfortable going to one of the other mods, thought we do all talk to each other and work together.

If you need mod assistance, the quickest way to get our attention is to use the Report Post button. This alerts all of us and gets us in action if we aren't already on top of it

Seriously, though, I don't know. I appreciate the work our mods do for us, but I've never been one myself.
