Maybe the Tea Party Nation would accept Obama signing the Family Leader "Marriage Pledge"

    The Candidate Vow:
Therefore, in any elected or appointed capacity by which I may have the honor of serving our fellow citizens in these United States, I the undersigned do hereby solemnly vow to honor and to cherish, to defend and to uphold, the Institution of Marriage as only between one man and one woman. I vow to do so through my:
    • Personal fidelity to my spouse.
    • Respect for the marital bonds of others.
    • Official fidelity to the U.S. Constitution, supporting the elevation of none but faithful constitutionalists as judges or justices.
    • Vigorous opposition to any redefinition of the Institution of Marriage – faithful monogamy between one man and one woman – through statutory-, bureaucratic-, or court-imposed recognition of intimate unions which are bigamous, polygamous, polyandrous, same-sex, etc.
    • Recognition of the overwhelming statistical evidence that married people enjoy better health, better sex, longer lives, greater financial stability, and that children raised by a mother and a father together experience better learning, less addiction, less legal trouble, and less extramarital pregnancy.
    • Support for prompt reform of uneconomic, anti-marriage aspects of welfare policy, tax policy, and marital/divorce law, and extended “second chance” or “cooling-off” periods for those seeking a “quickie divorce.”
    • Earnest, bona fide legal advocacy for the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) at the federal and state levels.
    • Steadfast embrace of a federal Marriage Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which protects the definition of marriage as between one man and one woman in all of the United States.
    • Humane protection of women and the innocent fruit of conjugal intimacy – our next generation of American children – from human trafficking, sexual slavery, seduction into promiscuity, and all forms of pornography and prostitution, infanticide, abortion and other types of coercion or stolen innocence.
    • Support for the enactment of safeguards for all married and unmarried U.S. Military and National Guard personnel, especially our combat troops, from inappropriate same-gender or opposite-gender sexual harassment, adultery or intrusively intimate commingling among attracteds (restrooms, showers, barracks, tents, etc.); plus prompt termination of military policymakers who would expose American wives and daughters to rape or sexual harassment, torture, enslavement or sexual leveraging by the enemy in forward combat roles.
    • Rejection of Sharia Islam and all other anti-woman, anti-human rights forms of totalitarian control.
    • Recognition that robust childbearing and reproduction is beneficial to U.S. demographic, economic, strategic and actuarial health and security.
    • Commitment to downsizing government and the enormous burden upon American families of the USA‟s $14.3 trillion public debt, its $77 trillion in unfunded liabilities, its $1.5 trillion federal deficit, and its $3.5 trillion federal budget.
    • Fierce defense of the First Amendment‟s rights of Religious Liberty and Freedom of Speech, especially against the intolerance of any who would undermine law-abiding American citizens and institutions of faith and conscience for their adherence to, and defense of, faithful heterosexual monogamy.
Michelle Bachmann was the first candidate to sign it, followed by the multiple adulterer Gingrich. To his credit, Romney did not sign it.

I tend to ask myself, could I do a better job, than the person in office now? Maybe city/county wise I could bring better ideas.

State wide and nationally, I don't know as much as they do and I seriously doubt it for the simple reason, right now EVERYTHING is personal and NOTHING has to do with wanting to make the nation better. Statewide does not seem as bad as nationally, but still extremely partisan.

One thing I do know for sure that I am better than, I would NEVER put money overseas in bank accounts to avoid paying taxes in a time of war. To me that is treasonous and should be treated as a crime and NOT as some overlooked fact that some guy running for president avoids talking about.

BBC News - Tax havens: Super-rich 'hiding' at least $21tn

And we wonder why there is a fiscal problem and the value of money has declined...

And when they say they want companies to be able to bring back their money held overseas without paying taxes, this is what they are talking about. It won't create 'jobs' that don't already exist.

Woah...this guy is NOT so much opposed to Romney himself as opposed to the idea of a Romney administration...
    interesting perspective

Do you think his opinions are exaggerated? Paranoid?

While I see Romney as mostly a passive politician in style...it could be true that once in...those associated with him would do their damnedest to stamp their agenda. I don't see him a type of person to be a bulwark against those that may take advantage of having a president of their own party within.

Obama has been not the "liberal" bastion that the GOP has portrayed, even when he had his party in power in the House.

    What do you think?

    'President Romney'?

Romney to announce that Paul Ryan is his VP choice.....safe, white, true conservative.

It will certainly help shore up the Tea Party wing, but it keeps the target right on the Ryan budget and its adverse impact on the middle class and working poor at the expense of defense spending and tax cuts for the wealthy...hardly an appeal to Independents.

He better hope it does something to light a fire to his campaign...
Even Real Clear Politics, a right-leaning opinion agg, has Obama trouncing Romney in an Electorial election (if done right now, no toss ups)
If things continue...I see at least 3 more state flipping to Obama.

Actually, from what I'm looking at...if nothing unusual happens...it's not if Obama is going to win,
but how an Obama win...and thus a Democratic win...if not a push, will affect other races.
    Governor, Senate, House...and state level...

Also, it's also a matter of timing of the party conventions.
Will the fact that the GOP convention is a couple of weeks earlier help or hinder the GOP lighting a fire and keeping a fire lit??

Or will the Dems being last "to speak" be inspired to take the ball and run with it??

From what I'm reading...the GOP has got some serious splits in the party as far as Presidential scale politics.
they're a bit more sound on Gov, Sen and House aspects.
And they've got great financial backing...and great sponsors...and great "coaching staff"

But the Dems, seem to be unusally unified and in a fighting mood...not their typical wishy-washy chaos.
Like they are a Football team being inspired by the step by step/play by play momentum of their Quarterback.
That, or they are pissed off at being constantly hounded by the other team.
Their issue is that while the have at the moment a consistent voice...their organization is exactly not that...it's every person for themselves...

It's going to be interesting to see how Sept and Oct play out...who really gets out the vote
and gets the independents on their side...

When you're being pummeled for a tax plan that benefits the rich and burdens the poor, why would you pick a VP candidate who wants to eliminate Medicare? Are they doubling down on their "Fuck the Poor 2012" campaign slogan?

I wonder how my 'private' social security would be doing now? I think my 401k is still growing at 1% or so a year, not the 7-8% that was quoted. And just hope you aren't in your 60s when a big stock market crash happens.

“If you really move all the clutter and all the doublespeak out of the way, you realize that the modern Republican Party is championing the vision of Ayn Rand, every man for himself, and women get to take a very deep backseat.”
