    Anyone watching this?

We tuned in to see how Simon would do with the other judges. I gotta say I like Cheryl Cole a lot more than the pussycat dolls girl.

I like the back and forth between L.A. Reid and Simon.

My first impression is that I like this format enormously better than Idol. The production value is higher, the audience in the seats during auditions, the judges, the prize and the age limits and groups being allowed.

I'm not sure if I'll stick with it since most of this television doesn't interest me but there have been some WOW moments already. Will it take down Idol? I fucking hope so, but I don't know if people can get over their jerk off sessions with idol.

I would say that X Factor is easily the douchiest show that has ever been put on air. The amount of masturbation that happens at the beginning of every episode and with the introduction of every judge is painful. We get it. These are rich and "powerful" (in the entertainment field) people. You do not need to literally smear our face in how fucking unbelievably awesome they are, and how much of a huge risk they took by coming on the show. No one took a risk. No one is worried about making money. Cut the shit out, you smug fucks.

The auditions are just as varied as Idol, and I expect the rest of the series will play out very similarly. My wife insists on DVR'ing it, but I'm going to tune out. The only "competition" reality shows I watch are Hell's Kitchen and So You Think You Can Dance. Everything else (especially the singing shows) do nothing for me.

Also, before anyone asks: he mad. :p

SYTYCD just doesn't appeal to me anymore. They don't give much love to street dancers..it's all contemporary bullshit.

The only reason I watch shit like Xfactor is because it's amazing to see some of the talent that you don't expect come out. Music is music.. if you can ignore the jerkfest at the judges table..then it shouldn't be an issue.

As someone with little patience for Idol, I found this show compelling. I actually came out of my office a couple of times to watch performances.

I think the format is more conducive to finding, motivating, and rewarding talent. I might peek into this show from time to time.

I would like to thank X-Factor for taking Nicole Scherzinger* away from The Sing-Off, which is the only reality show that I watch. She was useless for the past two seasons, and now The Sing-Off has Sara Bareilles, who sang in a college a cappella group so she actually knows what she is talking about.

    * I had accidentally typed "Nicole Sheradin", and Googled it before I posted this reply. She's a porn star.

I wish X-Factor would keep Cheryl Cole (holy hotness with accent) and ditch Nicole. Sure the bitch can sing, but she pulls diva mode out when any girl gets on stage. Seriously? You've made your millions, you have nothing to fear.. get over it and listen to some of the talent. Paula, you're like a billion years old, you'll never have a comeback.. just listen to the talent.

This show still has a far better production value over Idol and for me has had much better talent than idol. You get the whole spectrum of talent and it's not limited to a very select group of individuals. It was also nice to see Simon and L.A. Reid bully Nicole and Paula to get over their diva attitude last night and let a girl perform.

So, I have been taping these episodes and just watched the first night's episode.
Do you guys think Paula was faking her reaction to Rainbow-guy's wang appearance, or do you think she was actually sick?

Also, I wonder if he faced criminal charges for what he did? I think if it's against the law to flash your wang out in public, it should count there, too.
Especially if there were children in the audience.

As to the judges, yup, I think they should have kept Cheryl Cole, but also Nicole. I'm not yet tired of either. I am of Paula, for the most part.
I'm digging L.A. Reid, so far, and Simon's still a blast.

Singing-wise, there've been some good singers, and some stinkers.
I wish they'd show more of the stinkers. They kind of gloss over them. (wish they would've rainbow-wang)

I know Paula was faking. I mean seriously, she's blown so many cocks in her life that an old hippie cock can't cause that type of reaction. She was just doing it for attention.

The stinker vs. real talent showings are what sets this show apart from Idol. Idol in the first few weeks was focused on the crazies and the pathetics and while it's funny, you didn't know who the hell you were seeing during hollywood week because they never showed these people. With X-Factor focusing more on the talent you can begin to have a fan base for the people you'd like to see move forward.

I'm also digging the live show aspect. It's great to see how people either melt or shine in front of an audience. This can only help the judges and the performers in the long run.

I see your point. (I'll quit staring at it in a minute)
I'd forgotten that aspect about Idol.
Although I enjoyed the train-wreck auditions on there, they did tend to gloss over a lot of the talents they passed through to Hollywood.

Anyway, I think with them showing Idol and X-Factor at different times of the year, there's room for both of these shows in most viewer's schedule.

I'd like to apologise for X-factor on behalf of the United Kingdom. Unfortunately, I don't have the authority.

A few surprises last night but nothing mind blowing. I'm sure those are being saved for tonight when the real cuts start being made. I found the group arrangements interesting and cringed at most of them and thought 2 or 3 were pretty good. It was also nice not to hear Nicole and Paula whine about stupid shit.

I'm interested to see who gets selected on Tuesday. There are some that are easily going to be out of it, some that I couldn't believe how bad they flopped at this stage and some that continued to be amazing. When Simon is in the picture though, ya just never know which way the wind is gonna blow.

all I gotta say is "WTF?!" Some of the judges choices were mind-boggling. Absolutely insane.
